Watertown swimmers pull out win at Stoughton
STOUGHTON — Watertown’s boys swim team earned a 96-74 Badger South dual meet victory over Stoughton on Tuesday.
The Goslings won seven events on the night.
Nathan Williams won the 200 individual medley in 2 minutes, 22.56 seconds. Brendan Williams won the 50 freestyle in 24.03 and the 100 freestyle in 55.96. Nathan Lampe won the 500 freestyle (5:44.98). Shaun McCloskey won the 100 butterfly (1:02.48).
The 200 freestyle relay team of Liam McCloskey, Tom van Zanten, Josh Vana and Shaun McCloskey won in 1:45.60. The 400 freestyle relay team of Lampe, Shaun McCloskey, Nathan Williams and Brendan Williams won in 3:42.09.
Finishing second for the Goslings were van Zanten in the 200 freestyle (2:18.16), Zach Jaworski in the 200 individual medley (2:29.22), Nathan Williams in the 100 freestyle (58.68), Lampe in the 100 backstroke (1:05.86) and the 200 medley relay team of Lampe, Nathan Williams, Jaworski and Brendan Williams in 1:52.42.
Third place finishers included Shaun McCloskey in the 50 freestyle (25.64), Liam McCloskey in the 100 butterfly (1:06.96) and 100 breaststroke (1:20.03), Anthony Smith in the 500 freestyle (6:23.60), Austin Fuchs in the 100 backstroke (1:08.63), the 200 medley relay team of Fuchs, Seth Weidmeyer, Smith and Vana in 2:09.72 and the 400 freestyle relay team of Jaworski, Smith, van Zanten and Liam McCloskey in 4:01.45.
Watertown’s JV team won 76-37.
The Goslings host their annual invitational on Saturday at 10:30 a.m.
