Bob Rundle, 67, of Kankakee, passed away at 3 p.m. Friday (April 26, 2019) at the Edward Hines, Jr. VA Hospital in Hines.
He was born June 15, 1951, in Macomb, the son of John R. and Madelyn E. (McCullum) Rundle. Bob was raised and educated in Colchester, and graduated from Yorkwood High School in 1969.
Bob served in the U.S. Air Force for 19 years.
He married Mary Varboncoeur on Feb. 27, 1973, in Paxton. She survives.
After retiring from the Air Force, Bob worked as a mental health technician at Riverside and later as a CNA at Kankakee Terrace.
He was an avid Chicago Bears fan and enjoyed reading and watching sports. Bob and his wife loved to travel and show their American Pitbull Terriers.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Rundle, of Kankakee; one sister, LouAnn Cavanaugh, of Monmouth; four brothers, Steve (Melanie) Rundle, of California, Bruce (Sherry) Rundle, of Monmouth, Jamie (Gloria) Rundle, of Galesburg, and Joe (Nancy) Rundle, of Oneida; brothers-in-law, Barry Free, of Little York, Jeep Varboncoeur, of St. Anne, Dean (Rhonda) Lareau, of Kankakee, and Martin (Carol) Lareau, of Beaverville; sister-in-law, Joanne Lareau-Arseneau, of Beaverville; along with several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents; one sister, Cheryl Free; brothers-in-law, Mark Cavanaugh and Jack Lareau; and sisters-in-law, Gloria Varboncoeur, Peggy Ingalls and Janet Williams.
A memorial Mass will be at 2 p.m., Saturday, May 4, at Immaculate Conception Church, Monmouth. Interment will be at a later date in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood. Cremation rites have been accorded.
Memorials may be made to the Fisher House Foundation.
