Tacoma City Manager T.C. Broadnax in line to manage Dallas

DALLAS (AP) — The city manager in Tacoma, Washington, is in line to become city manager in Dallas.

Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings on Friday announced T.C. Broadnax has been selected to replace A.C. Gonzalez, who retires at the end of January. Broadnax faces a final Dallas City Council vote on Wednesday.

Broadnax has been city manager of Tacoma, with a population of more than 200,000, since 2012. He previously was an assistant city manager in San Antonio for five years.

Broadnax holds a master’s degree in public administration from the University of North Texas.

Dallas, with a population of about 1.3 million, has more than 13,000 employees and a current fiscal year budget of $3.1 billion.
