Veterinary Chain Donates $12G to NEADS
PRINCETON -- VCA Animal Hospitals, the nation’s largest animal-hospital network, and its nonprofit partner organization VCA Charities, recently donated $12,351 to NEADS Inc., the internationally accredited nonprofit agency dedicated to raising and training world-class service dogs for people across the country who have disabilities.
Between April and June 2, 24 local animal hospitals collected donations by encouraging clients to round up their transaction amounts to the nearest dollar or donate online. The donation will enable NEADS to continue its important work in the community.
“We want to thank all of those clients, donors and staff for helping to make this year’s ‘Pennies for Pets’ a success here in Massachusetts and New Hampshire,” said Lauren McVey, regional operations director for VCA Animal Hospitals. “These funds are helping our valued animal-welfare partner groups improve lives in our community.”
NEADS World Class Service Dogs offers the widest array of programs in the industry, including service dogs for adults and children with a physical disability, service dogs for veterans, and hearing dogs and service dogs for children with autism or other developmental disabilities. NEADS Assistance Dogs are partnered with professionals in classroom, hospital, ministry and courthouse settings. Learn more at NEADS.org .
