BIRMINGHAM, Ala.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov 5, 2019--

Customers can ring in a joyous holiday season by participating in Books-A-Million’s seventh annual Holiday Book & Toy Drive and “Grow Your Heart 3 Sizes” campaign to bring the spirit of giving to children and families in need. Now through December 16, guests can visit their local Books-A-Million store to donate children’s books and toys to local charities across the country, such as American Cancer Society, Boys & Girls Club of America, Toys for Tots and more.

“Seeing our communities come together to gather donations for those in need is a heartwarming experience we look forward to each holiday season,” said Scott Kappler, Chief Marketing Officer at Books-A-Million. “To date, we’ve donated over 1.3 million books and toys, and our hope is that these contributions help brighten families’ holiday celebrations during this special time of year.”

Customers are invited to take part in the holiday drive by donating one of their favorite books or by selecting one from the suggestions found near all Books-A-Million store checkout counters. Holiday selections customers can consider donating include, “The Night Before Christmas” by C. Moore, “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” by Dr. Seuss and “The Polar Express” by Chris Van Allsburg.

Shoppers can also choose from the ‘How to Raise a Reader’ section featuring books recommended for babies through teens, including “The Book Thief” by Markus Zusak and “The Little Engine That Could” by Watty Piper as well as titles from Rick Riordan’s “Percy Jackson” and “Olympians” series. Recommendations from the ’50 Books to Read Before You’re 50’ list include “Goodnight Moon” by Margaret Wise Brown, “Chicka Chicka Boom Boom” by Bill Martin and Dr. Seuss’ “The Cat in the Hat.”
