Ray Keith Bertrand, 89, of Bourbonnais, passed away Thursday (March 21, 2019) at Presence Our Lady of Victory in Bourbonnais.
He was born Nov. 2, 1929, in Kankakee, the son of Daniel Sr. and Bernice (Drazy) Bertrand. Ray married Bettyjane F. Styck on Oct. 2, 1948, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Kankakee.
Ray was a retired employee of General Foods. He enjoyed playing euchre and bingo. Ray was known for riding his 3-wheel bike in Bourbonnais. He and his wife loved traveling to Branson, Mo., and listening to country music
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served from 1952 to 1956.
Ray was a former parishioner of Maternity B.V.M. Catholic Church in Bourbonnais.
Surviving are his wife, Bettyjane Bertrand, of Bourbonnais; one son, Keith Bertrand, of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; one daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Kevin Mauritzen, of Bradley; eight grandchildren, April Whittington, Adam Mauritzen, Kristy Rader, Kelly Meents, Amanda Croy, Brandon Bertrand, Aaron Bertrand and Devan Bertrand; 12 great-grandchildren; and two sisters and one brother-in-law, Pricilla Ott, of Bradley, and Pam and Gary Jones, of Wisconsin.
Preceding him in death were his parents; one daughter, Karen Hansen; one sister, Patricia Stevenson; and one brother, Daniel Bertrand Jr.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. Thursday, March 28, until the noon funeral service at Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home in Bourbonnais. Burial will be in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood.
Memorials may be made to the wishes of the family.
