Reproduction Of Completed Kingston WWII Honor Roll To Be Rededicated Tonight
The Kingston Historical Society is presenting a re-dedication ceremony of the now completed reproduction of the Kingston World War II Honor Roll at 7 tonight, May 24, in council chambers, Kingston Municipal Building, Wyoming Avenue. The public is welcome. Added to the March 1943 section of approximately 1,500 names will be two side panels of names included on the Honor Roll from April 1943 to the end of the war. Researching those names, of which no complete record could be located, involved newspapers, archives, input from family members and friends, and copies of newsletters sent to those in service by Lundy Wright, Kingston High Lettermen’s Club, from the start of the war to the end. In addition, a framed certificate honoring those who gave their lives in World War II will be presented.
