Tewksbury Police Bust Two at Motel 6 on Drug Charges

TEWKSBURY -- A Lawrence man and a Manchester, N.H. woman were arrested at Motel 6 on Tuesday after officers saw nearly 50 grams of cocaine in their room, according to police.

Elvin Mendoza, 22, of 9 Byron Ave., Apt. 2, Lawrence, has been charged with trafficking cocaine over 36 grams, and for having two default warrants for trafficking heroin over 100 grams and operating a motor vehicle with a revoked license.

Yanela Correa, 18, of 156 Cypress St., Manchester, N.H., has been charged with trafficking cocaine over 36 grams.

On Tuesday, Tewksbury Police officers went to the Motel 6 on Main Street to serve the warrants for Mendoza. While inside the room, officers observed 47.9 grams of cocaine. Both Mendoza and Correa were arrested.

Both were due to be arraigned at Lowell District Court on Wednesday.
