Blazers semistate ticket equals free pizza

Marquette students who purchase a ticket to Saturday’s Class A girls basketball semistate at La Porte will receive free pizza at tonight’s home boys basketball game versus Illiana Christian. “I’m very thankful for the support we received from our student section this past Saturday,” Director of Athletics and head coach Katie Collignon said in a media release. “I expect Northfield to travel well this weekend so we’re going to need Blazer Nation out in full force.” Students can show their semistate ticket in the Scholl Center Finance Lab between the 5:30 p.m. JV game and the varsity contest that follows to receive complimentary pizza. Semistate tickets are $10 and can be purchased in the athletic office during school hours. Marquette and Northfield will tip off at noon Saturday.

Blazers boys hoops schedule changes

Marquette and Illiana Christian will make up their boys basketball game tonight at the Scholl Center. Marquette’s game on Feb. 22 versus Goshen will be a varsity-only contest at 6, not the originally-scheduled 7:15. It will also be Senior Night. It will be conducted how the girls seniors were recognized, players and parents will be recognized prior to tip-off, and the Senior Night ceremony will be after the game.
