Firm accuses former city attorney of filing false complaints

July 26, 2019

LAS VEGAS (AP) — A law firm hired by a Las Vegas suburb has accused the son of former U.S. Sen. Harry Reid of sending frivolous public records requests and fake complaints that cost the city more than $150,000.

The Las Vegas Review-Journal reported Thursday that the firm Bailey Kennedy in a letter this week has asked former Henderson City Attorney Josh Reid to agree to stop anonymously submitting requests or complaints in order to avoid litigation by Henderson.

The firm says Reid sent a records request in February 2018 “for no legitimate purpose, and solely to harass the city and create expenses.”

It says he also sent 15 anonymous complaints about city management.

Reid says in a statement the allegations are “unfounded and defamatory.” He says his lawyers will respond to them.
