Bluefish top Revolution
BRIDGEPORT — The Bridgeport Bluefish topped the York Revolution 4-2 in the opener of a four-game series Monday night at the Ballpark at Harbor Yard.
York jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning on Isaias Tejeda’s solo home run, but Bridgeport responded with two runs in the bottom of the frame on Luis Hernandez’s RBI double and Jose Gil’s groundout.
The Bluefish tacked on insurance runs in the fifth and seventh innings.
Jonathan Albaladejo (5-6) earned the win on the mound, allowing two earned runs on six hits with 11 strikeouts in 61/3 innings of work, and David Carpenter picked up his 25th save of the season after throwing a scoreless and hitless ninth.
Stephen Janas (1-4) took the loss for the Revolution, surrendering three earned runs on seven hits with three strikeouts in six innings pitched.
Hernandez, D’Arby Myers and Daniel Fields had two hits apiece in the win for Bridgeport.
