Harris’ career-high 31 sends New Mexico St. past New Mexico
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) — A.J. Harris scored a career-high 31 points and went 9-of-11 from the field and New Mexico State held off a late New Mexico rally to win 98-94 on Saturday.
Terrell Brown added 20 for the Aggies (3-1).
Vance Jackson had 27, Anthony Mathis 22 and Corey Manigault 20 for the Lobos (2-1).
But that wasn't enough to overcome New Mexico State's hot shooting as the Aggies went 30-for 53 from the field and 12-of-23 on 3-pointers. Harris hit all six of 3-pointers.
1st in WAC New Mexico St. beats UT Rio Grande 86-71
EDINBURG, Texas (AP) — Jemerrio Jones scored 18 points and grabbed 13 rebounds and New Mexico State beat UT Rio Grande Valley 86-71 on Saturday in a regular-season finale.
Zach Lofton added 17 points and 10 rebounds, Johnathon Wilkins had 16 points and A.J. Harris 15 for the Aggies (25-5, 12-2 Western Athletic Conference) who finish first in the conference standings and head to the WAC Tournament quarterfinals as the No. 1 seed to face eighth-seeded Chicago State on March 8.
Utah Valley beats New Mexico State 86-79
OREM, Utah (AP) — Kenneth Ogbe scored 22 points with four 3-pointers, Brandon Randolph added 17 points, and Utah Valley snapped New Mexico State's 11-game win streak with an 86-79 victory on Thursday night.
Jerrelle DeBerry added 14 points for the Wolverines (18-8, 7-3 Western Athletic Conference), who beat the conference-leading Aggies by hitting 11 3-pointers and shooting 58.3 percent from the field.
New Mexico St. holds off Grand Canyon, 74-70; now 9-0 in WAC
LAS CRUCES, N.M. (AP) — Jemerrio Jones scored 27 points and matched his career high by snaring 20 rebounds and New Mexico State thrilled a packed home-court crowd by coming from behind to beat Grand Canyon, 74-70 Saturday night to remain unbeaten in the Western Athletic Conference.
Grand Canyon, which was upset Thursday by UT-Rio Grande Valley, falls to fourth in the WAC behind Seattle and Utah Valley with four losses in conference.
New Mexico State’s defense continues to shine in 71-45 win
LAS CRUCES, N.M. (AP) — Jemerrio Jones had 14 points, 16 rebounds and three blocks as New Mexico State thrashed NAIA member Northern New Mexico 71-45 on Tuesday night.
The New Mexico State defense continued to dominate, holding an opponent under 50 points for the second straight game. The Aggies limited UMKC to 48 points in a 73-48 victory on Saturday.
Jones’ rebound bucket lifts New Mexico St over Davidson
HONOLULU (AP) — Jemerrio Jones grabbed an offensive rebound and scored with eight seconds left in the game and New Mexico State used a late run to pull out a 69-68 victory over Davidson on Friday in the opening round of the Diamond Head Classic.
Reserves Eli Chuha and Keyon Jones scored 13 each to pace the Aggies (10-2), who used an 11-4 spurt over the final 2:33 to pull out the win. A.J. Harris scored 12 and Zach Lofton chipped in with 10 points and eight rebounds for NMSU.
Lofton scores 22 as New Mexico State beats New Mexico 65-62
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) — Zach Lofton scored 22 points for New Mexico State and two potential tying shots hit rim and bounced away in the closing five seconds for New Mexico as the Aggies came away with a 65-62 win Saturday night.
"It wasn't a pretty game," New Mexico State coach Chris Jans said. "It was a toughness win. And hopefully next time we're in that situation, we'll be talking about this game."

EL PASO, Texas (AP) — A.J. Harris scored 18 points and New Mexico State rolled to an 80-60 victory over UTEP on Thursday night.
Jemerrio Jones added 11 points and grabbed 13 rebounds for New Mexico State (5-1), which has won four straight, including back-to-back games against the Miners. Sidy N'Dir and Keyon Jones chipped in 10 points apiece.
Lofton, Chuha lead New Mexico St. past Colorado St. 89-76
LAS CRUCES, N.M. (AP) — Zach Lofton scored 30 points and Eli Chuha added 24 points and the two only missed a combined six shots and New Mexico State beat Colorado State 89-76 on Wednesday.
Lofton went 12-of-15 shooting and Chuha was 8 of 11 and the duo shot 77 percent from the floor while the rest of the Lobos went 14 for 32 (43.8).
