Turner’s 3-pointer lifts Northwestern over Illinois 68-66
EVANSTON, Ill. (AP) — A.J. Turner got a second chance and made the most of it.
Turner hit a 3-pointer with 10.1 seconds left to give Northwestern a 68-66 victory over rival Illinois on Sunday, the Wildcats' first Big Ten win of the season.
The junior forward missed a wild 3-point attempt with just under 20 seconds left, but Dererk Pardon grabbed the rebound and threw it back out to Turner for the game-winning basket.
Jackson, Minnie help Eastern Michigan beat Kent State 71-67
KENT, Ohio (AP) — Paul Jackson had 17 points and eight assists, Elijah Minnie added 15 points, three blocks and three steals and Eastern Michigan beat Kent State 71-67 on Tuesday night.
Eastern Michigan (14-10, 5-6 Mid-American Conference) won in Kent for the first time since beating the Golden Flashes 79-73 on Feb. 7, 1998.
Bowling Green rallies to beat Kent State 70-62
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio (AP) — Justin Turner scored 20 points, Demajeo Wiggins added 13 and Bowling Green overcame a 19-point first-half deficit to beat Kent State 70-62 on Saturday to sweep the season series against the Golden Flashes.
Rodrick Caldwell scored 12 points and Antwon Lillard 11 for the Falcons (14-9, 5-5 Mid-American Conference), who trailed 31-25 at halftime after shooting 9 of 33 (27.3 percent) from the field.
Kent State rallies from 18 down, tops 1st-place Buffalo
KENT, Ohio (AP) — Danny Pippen scored 21 points and grabbed 13 rebounds, Adonis De La Rosa had 20 points, six boards and five assists and Kent State completed an 18-point comeback to beat first-place Buffalo 82-79 on Tuesday night.
Kent State guard Jaylin Walker spun to split two defenders and hit a floater to tie it at 77 with 1:27 to go and Pippen made a layup with 37 seconds left to give the Golden Flashes their first lead since 2-0.
Kent State uses strong 2nd half to beat Central Michigan
MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. (AP) — Kevin Zabo had 22 points, Jaylin Walker added 21 and Kent State overcame a nine-point halftime deficit to beat Central Michigan 84-76 on Saturday.
Zabo's 3-pointer with 1:27 left made it 74-67 and Micah Peterson extended the lead to 78-69 on a pair of free throws at 1:01. The Chippewas got within five on Matt Beachler's 3 with 38 seconds left, but the Golden Flashes (11-10, 5-3 Mid-American Conference) made 3 of 4 free throws to hold on for the victory.
Zabo’s hot hand in OT lifts Kent State over Ball State 88-80
KENT, Ohio (AP) — Kevin Zabo scored seven of his 21 points in overtime and Danny Pippen finished with a double-double to power Kent State to an 88-80 victory over Ball State on Tuesday night.
Pippen scored 11 with 16 rebounds for the Golden Flashes (10-10, 4-3 Mid-American Conference), who beat the Cardinals for a 15th straight time. Adonis De La Rosa finished with 15 points and eight rebounds, Jaylin Walker scored 17 with seven boards and Jalen Avery and BJ Duling added 10 points each.
Zabo, Peterson lead Kent State past Western Michigan 73-71
KENT, Ohio (AP) — Kevin Zabo tossed in 23 points, Mitch Peterson made a putback just before the buzzer and Kent State beat Western Michigan 73-71 on Tuesday night.
On Kent State's final possession, Zabo drove the middle of the lane but had his shot blocked. It fell to Danny Pippen, who came up short on a hook and it was knocked out to Peterson for the game-winner.
Zabo, De La Rosa spark Kent State to 70-69 victory
KENT, Ohio (AP) — Kevin Zabo scored 24 points and Adonis De La Rosa scored on a jump hook with 21 seconds remaining to lead Kent State past Ohio 70-69 on Friday night.
Kent led 37-31 at halftime before Ohio (8-8, 1-3 Mid-American) rallied and tied it at 67-all with 2:40 remaining on Gavin Block's 3-pointer. Teyvion Kirk layup gave the Bobcats a 69-68 lead with two minutes left.
Ringo leads Miami (OH) to 80-69 win over Kent St
OXFORD, Ohio (AP) — Darrian Ringo scored 16 points, including 12 in the first half when Miami (Ohio) built a big lead, and added seven assists to guide the RedHawks to an 80-69 victory over Kent State on Tuesday night.

KENT, Ohio (AP) — Adonis De La Rosa had career highs of 24 points and 14 rebounds and Kent State defeated Central Michigan 85-69 on Saturday.
Jaylin Walker scored 26 points on 6-of-9 shooting from 3-point range — and 6 of 7 from the free-throw line — Kevin Zabo scored 17 points and Jaylen Avery 12 and the Golden Flashes never trailed.
Albany pulls away from Kent State 78-68 behind Charles
ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) — Travis Charles scored 19 points with nine rebounds and five assists, and his jumper sparked a game-changing run that let Albany pull away from Kent State for a 78-68 win on Thursday night to conclude non-conference play.
David Nichols scored 15 points, Joe Cremo added 14 with nine assists and Devonte Campbell had 11 for Albany (12-3), which starts America East Conference play Jan. 3 against Hartford.
De La Rosa, Kent State hold off Cleveland State 72-62
KENT, Ohio (AP) — Adonis De La Rosa scored 16 points with seven rebounds and three assists to propel Kent State to a 72-62 victory over Cleveland State on Saturday.
Kevin Zabo added 17 points, but he was just 1 of 8 from 3-point range as the Golden Flashes (5-3) connected on 5 of 26 (19.2 percent) from long range. Jalen Avery had 15 points and BJ Duling scored 10 for Kent State (5-3).

NORFOLK, Va. (AP) — Adonis De La Rosa had 19 points and 10 rebounds, Jalen Avery scored 18 points, and Kent State beat winless Norfolk State 79-70 on Wednesday night.
Kevin Zabo scored 15 points with four assists and Danny Pippen and Mitch Peterson grabbed seven rebounds apiece for the Green Flashes (4-3).
Valpo beats Kent State 77-67 for 6th straight victory
SAVANNAH, Ga. (AP) — Tevonn Walker scored 19 points, Bakari Evelyn had 13 points and seven assists, and Valparaiso beat Kent State 77-67 on Friday night for its sixth straight win.
Valpo is off to its best start since the 1966-67 squad won seven in a row. The Crusaders play UNC Wilmington on Saturday.
De La Rosa’s double-double paces Kent State in 80-67 win
KENT, Ohio (AP) — Adonis De La Rosa posted his second straight double-double and Jaylin Walker scored 19 points in Kent State's 80-67 victory over Mississippi Valley State on Sunday.
De La Rosa made all three of his field-goal attempts and all eight of his free throws in scoring 14 points while pulling down 10 rebounds. BJ Duling added 14 points and three of Kent State's 11 steals while Jalen Avery had a career-high 10 assists to go with five points. The Golden Flashes (3-0) shot 52 percent.
Walker, De La Rosa lead Kent St. over Youngstown St. 111-78
AKRON, Ohio (AP) — Jaylin Walker and Adonis De La Rosa scored 20 points apiece as Kent State beat Youngstown State 111-78 in a season opener for both teams Saturday night.
Jalen Avery added 14 points with eight rebounds and five assists for Golden Flashes. Danny Pippen had 13 points and eight rebounds and Desmond Ridenour chipped in 12 points. Kent State averaged 55 percent shooting overall — compared to 38 percent for YSU — and had a 57-41 rebounding edge.
