WARSAW, Poland (AP) — Former Wimbledon finalist Agnieszka Radwanska announced Wednesday she is retiring from tennis after a 13-year career.
The 29-year-old Pole, who reached a career-high ranking of No. 2, says she is "no longer able to train and play the way I used to."
Bertens, Minella advance to quarterfinals at Korea Open
SEOUL, South Korea (AP) — Second-seeded Kiki Bertens advanced to the quarterfinals of the rain-hit Korea Open by beating Dalila Jakupovic 6-4, 7-5 Thursday.
Bertens broke the Slovenian player's serve at 5-5 in the second set and held in the next game.
Also, Mandy Minella beat Australian qualifier Priscilla Hon 6-4, 6-3. The 20-year-old Hon was trying to make it to the Seoul quarterfinals for the second straight year as a qualifier.
Radwanska beats Mattek-Sands to advance at Korea Open
SEOUL, South Korea (AP) — Agnieszka Radwanska began her quest for a second Korea Open title with a 6-4, 7-5 win over Bethanie Mattek-Sands on Tuesday.
Radwanska, who reached the Wimbledon final in 2012 and won the Korea Open the following year, broke Mattek-Sands' serve in the last game to clinch the victory.

In the final, she will face top seed Caroline Wozniacki or another former No. 1 Angelique Kerber.
The unseeded Sabalenka has beaten three top-20 players this week, including No. 7 and defending champion Karolina Pliskova on Thursday.

EASTBOURNE, England (AP) — Defending champion Karolina Pliskova was upset by Aryna Sabalenka of Belarus in the Eastbourne International quarterfinals on Thursday.
The second-seeded Czech player, who has reached the final in the past two years, lost 6-3, 2-6, 7-6 (5) in 2 hours, 12 minutes.
It was Sabalenka's first win over a top-10 player.
Sabalenka, who is ranked 45th in the world, fought back from a 4-1 deficit in the deciding set and clinched the match when Pliskova sent a forehand wide.
EASTBOURNE, England (AP) — Petra Kvitova has pulled out of the Eastbourne International tournament with a hamstring injury.
The eighth-ranked Czech had been scheduled to play Agnieszka Radwanska in the third round later Wednesday.
"I'm really disappointed to have to withdraw from Eastbourne this morning," Kvitova said in a statement, quoted on the WTA website.

The unseeded 23-year-old Russian-born Australian upset second-seeded Dominika Cibulkova 4-6, 6-3, 6-4 in the Connecticut Open.
She finished her comeback from a set down by breaking the 11th-ranked Slovak in the final game, hitting a forehand winner, throwing her racket and jumping into the air in jubilation.

Top-seeded Radwanska gets past Bouchard at Connecticut Open
NEW HAVEN, Conn. (AP) — Top-seeded Agnieszka Radwanska survived a second-set comeback bid from Eugenie Bouchard to advance to the quarterfinals of the Connecticut Open on Tuesday.
The 10th-ranked Radwanska, who won the title in New Haven last year, defeated Bouchard 6-3, 7-5 in 1 hour, 45 minutes. The Polish veteran is 4-0 in her career against the Canadian, who needed a wild card to enter the tournament.
Bouchard fought off two match points but was broken while serving to force a tiebreak.

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (AP) — Mirjana Lucic-Baroni of Croatia and Alize Cornet of France won first-round matches Sunday at the Connecticut Open.
Cornet beat Yulia Putintseva of Kazakhstan 6-0, 6-0, and Lucic-Baroni overcame 11 double faults and held off Anett Kontaveit of Estonia 6-7, 7-6 (7-3), 6-3.
LONDON (AP) — Four of the remaining 16 women at Wimbledon have played in a final at the All England Club. One of them is certain to be eliminated in the fourth round.
Angelique Kerber and Garbine Muguzura, who have won titles at other Grand Slam tournaments, each lost to Serena Williams in the Wimbledon final the last two years — Kerber in 2016, Muguruza in 2015. They meet Monday for a spot in the quarterfinals.
The top-ranked Kerber has lost her past four matches against Muguruza.

NEW HAVEN — Defending champion Agnieszka Radwanska has committed to play the Connecticut Open while 18-time Grand Slam singles champion Martina Navratilova will return to the tournament to celebrate 20 years of women’s tennis in New Haven.
A Premier WTA event that is part of the US Open Series, the Connecticut Open will be held Aug. 18-26 at the Connecticut Tennis Center at Yale.
American teen Bellis upsets Radwanska in Dubai
DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (AP) — American teen Catherine "CiCi" Bellis captured her first career Top 10 win on Wednesday when she upset sixth-ranked Agnieszka Radwanska 6-4, 2-6, 6-2 in the third round at the Dubai Tennis Championships.
"It's definitely, obviously, the biggest win of my career, and probably one of the best days of my life," Bellis said.

Halep beat the eighth-seeded Keys with powerful groundstrokes to set up a semifinal match against Petra Kvitova, who beat Johanna Konta 6-3, 6-4.
