Savannah State holds off Maryland-Eastern Shore 68-63
PRINCESS ANNE, Md. (AP) — Zach Sellers scored 19 points, Zaquavian Smith added 15 and Savannah State beat Maryland-Eastern Shore 68-63 on Monday night.
Savannah State was ahead 62-52, its largest advantage of the game, with just under five minutes left, but UMES got within 64-61 two minutes later.
SSU made its first nine free throws before missing three straight late to let UMES back in it. But Sellers made two straight to seal it with 11.4 remaining, making it 67-63.
Sylla’s career-high 25 pts leads NC A&T past UMES 67-58
PRINCESS ANNE, Md. (AP) — Ibrahim Sylla scored a career-high 25 points and tied his career best with 10 rebounds and North Carolina A&T remained unbeaten in Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference play beating Maryland-Eastern Shore 67-58 on Monday night.
It's the second consecutive season the Aggies have started 3-0 in conference action. They haven't done that since the 1980-81 and 1981-82 seasons.
Howard wins, holds Maryland-Eastern Shore to 39 points
PRINCESS ANNE, Md. (AP) — R.J. Cole had 26 points, seven rebounds and five assists, Charles Williams added 16 points and six rebounds and Howard cruised past Maryland-Eastern Shore 79-39 on Monday night.
Andino leads Md.-Eastern Shore past Cent. Pennsylvania 77-52
PRINCESS ANNE, Md. (AP) — Ryan Andino scored 26 points on seven 3-pointers and Maryland-Eastern Shore won its first game, beating Central Pennsylvania College of the USCAA Division II 77-52 on Saturday.
AJ Cheeseman added 20 points with four rebounds and three assists and Ahmad Frost had 10 points and three boards for the Hawks (1-5).
Walton scores 20, Longwood starts 3-0 for 1st time in DI
PRINCESS ANNE, Md. (AP) — Isaiah Walton scored 20 points, knocked down four 3-pointers and grabbed seven rebounds as Longwood held off Maryland-Eastern Shore down the stretch, 66-63 Tuesday night.
First-year coach Griff Aldrich has the Lancers off to a 3-0 start for the first time since the school stepped up to Division I in the 2004-05 season. Walton, the Big South Conference's leading scorer, has scored 20 or better in all three games.
Norfolk St. defeats Maryland-Eastern Shore 74-63
PRINCESS ANNE, Md. (AP) — Steven Whitley scored 14 points with eight rebounds and seven assists and Preston Bungei scored 18 points and Norfolk State beat Maryland-Eastern Shore 74-63 on Saturday.
Norfolk State has won four straight and eight of its last nine.
North Carolina Central with 77-49 win over Md-Eastern Shore
DURHAM, N.C. (AP) — Pablo Rivas scored 15 points off the bench and North Carolina Central rolled to 77-49 victory over Maryland-Eastern Shore on Saturday afternoon, snapping a three-game slide.
Rivas also led with nine rebounds for the Eagles (13-13, 7-5 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference). Reginald Gardner Jr. added 14 points and John Guerra had 13.
NCCU shot 50 percent from the field compared to 31.5 percent for Eastern Shore and had a 43-31 rebounding advantage.
UMES ends 7-game skid, beats Florida A&M 62-61
PRINCESS ANNE, Md. (AP) — Logan McIntosh scored 13 points Monday night and hit two free throws with 6.4 seconds left to help Maryland-Eastern Shore end a seven-game skid 62-61 over Florida A&M.
Ahmad Frost led the Hawks (6-19, 2-8 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) with 19 points and Miryne Thomas had 16 points and 11 rebounds.
UMES trailed 57-52 before Frost hit a 3-pointer with 3:10 left that sparked a 10-4 run to close the game. McIntosh's 3-point play with two minutes to go made it 58-57.
NC A&T edges UMES 66-64 behind Olujobi
PRINCESS ANNE, Md. (AP) — Femi Olujobi scored 17 points and the go-ahead 3-pointer late and North Carolina A&T edged out Maryland-Eastern Shore 66-64 on Saturday to win its fifth straight.
Aaren Edmead scored 14 points with five assists and Davaris McGowens added 11 points with nine rebounds for the Aggies (12-8, 5-0 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference).
The Aggies entered tied for first in the conference standings with North Carolina Central (12-8, 5-0).
South Carolina State rallies past Maryland-Eastern Shore
ORANGEBURG, S.C. (AP) — Damani Applewhite and Janai Rayner-Powell had 13 points each and South Carolina State beat Maryland-Eastern Shore 66-62 for its third straight win on Monday night.
Tabb scores 28, Bethune-Cookman beats UMES 89-84
PRINCESS ANNE, Md. (AP) — Brandon Tabb scored 28 points, with seven 3-pointers, and grabbed eight rebounds to help Bethune-Cookman beat Maryland-Eastern Shore 89-84 on Monday night.
Isaiah Bailey's 3-point play near the one-minute mark pushed Bethune-Cookman's lead to 86-81 and Soufiyane Diakite added two free throws on the Wildcats' next possession for a seven-point lead.
Frost’s 33 lifts Maryland-Eastern Shore past Hampton 92-83
PRINCESS ANNE, Md. (AP) — Ahmad Frost sank seven 3-pointers and finished with a career-high 33 points to help Maryland-Eastern Shore to a 92-83 win over Hampton on Saturday.
Tyler Jones added 28 points, Miryne Thomas scored 16 and Logan McIntosh dished out nine assists for Maryland-Eastern Shore, which was 31 of 61 from the field. Frost missed just two from behind the arc, going 10 for 15 from the field, and made all six of his free throws.
Drake ends 3-game skid, beats Maryland-Eastern Shore 81-57
DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — Reed Timmer had 21 points, De'Antae McMurray scored 16 and Drake snapped a three-game skid with an 81-57 win over Maryland-Eastern Shore on Friday night.
The Bulldogs (6-7) led throughout the second half and pulled away with a 19-2 run capped at 75-50 on Ore Arogundade's basket with 2:28 left. McMurray had three 3-pointers during the run and Graham Woodward added another.
Duquesne beats Maryland-Eastern Shore 86-61
PITTSBURGH (AP) — Mike Lewis II scored 29 points on 10-of-12 shooting, Eric Williams Jr. added a career-high 24 points to go with 11 boards and Duquesne beat Maryland-Eastern Shore 86-61 on Monday night.
Lewis was 6 of 7 from 3-point range and Williams was 4 of 6. It was Williams' third double-double of the season.
The Dukes (3-3) made 14 of 29 (48.3 percent) from the arc and had a 44-27 edge in rebounding. Tarin Smith added 10 points and Kellon Taylor had eight rebounds and seven assists.
Old Dominion dominates Maryland Eastern-Shore 83-44
NORFOLK, Va. (AP) — B.J. Stith had 14 points on Monday night and Old Dominion dominated Maryland-Eastern Shore 83-44.
Michael Hueitt Jr. added 12 points, Xavier Green scored 11 and Trey Porter 10 for the Monarchs (5-2), who built a 37-14 lead by halftime and extended it with an 18-0 run in the second.
Miryne Thomas led the Hawks (2-5) with 15 points and eight rebounds. Tyler Jones scored eight.
Mack scores 24, Tennessee Tech wins Emerald Classic 90-60
NICEVILLE, Fla. (AP) — Kajon Mack drained six of seven 3-point tries, joined five players in double figures with 24 points and Tennessee Tech defeated Maryland-Eastern Shore 90-60 to win the Emerald Classic championship on Saturday.

Govan, Derrickson double-doubles lift Georgetown past UMES
WASHINGTON (AP) — Jessie Govan had his third straight double-double, Marcus Derrickson had the third of his career and Georgetown remained unbeaten under former star Patrick Ewing with an 83-57 win over Maryland-Eastern Shore on Saturday.
Kaleb Johnson scored a career-high 24 points for the Hoyas (3-0) on 9-of-13 shooting, including four 3-pointers. Govan had 23 points, making 10 of 15 shots, and grabbed 14 rebounds, and Derrickson had 14 points and 10 boards.
