If Werner scores, he often adds another. It was the fourth league game in which the Germany striker claimed two goals, bringing his tally to eight so far this season.

PARIS (AP) — An avalanche of injuries has struck World Cup champion France after four more players were ruled out on Monday.

PARIS (AP) — Striker Keita Balde set up both goals as Monaco won at local rival Nice 2-1 to reach the French League Cup semifinals on Tuesday.
Both sides were missing their top scorers: Mario Balotelli for Nice and Radamel Falcao for Monaco.
Balde set up attacking midfielder Thomas Lemar for a close-range header as Monaco took the lead in the third minute. The impressive Lemar had a goal disallowed for offside 10 minutes later.
Nice routs titleholder Monaco 4-0 in French league
PARIS (AP) — Mario Balotelli scored twice as Nice gave Riviera rival Monaco its first defeat 4-0 and Paris Saint-Germain an edge in the French league standings on Saturday.
Nice, which came into the game with only three points from four matches, ended Monaco's run of 16 straight league wins carrying over from last season with a fine tactical display. It was titleholder Monaco's first loss since December.

PARIS (AP) — Mario Balotelli's teammate, Alassane Plea, says he heard Bastia supporters racially abusing the Nice striker with monkey chants during Friday night's league match.
On Saturday, Balotelli described the abuse he heard during the 1-1 draw at the 20,000-capacity Armand Cesari stadium in Corsica, complaining that the French league had not acted swiftly. Plea, who is Balotelli's strike partner, told French football show Telefoot on Sunday that he heard the abuse.
With Mario Balotelli rested, Nice wins anyway to stay top
PARIS (AP) — Striker Mario Balotelli was rested to protect a sore hip and his replacement Alassane Plea scored the winner as Nice beat struggling Nancy 1-0 Sunday to stay top of the French league.
Keeping Thursday's Europa League match at Russian side Krasnodar in mind, Nice coach Lucien Favre thought it best to leave out Balotelli and put other regulars on the bench.
