San Jose's Chris Wondolowski scored his 143rd MLS goal on a penalty kick to open the scoring in the 37th minute. Wondolowski is two goals behind Landon Donovan for the career record.
HOUSTON (AP) — Mauro Manotas had two goals and an assist and set a franchise record for goals in a calendar year, helping the Houston Dynamo snap a 10-game winless streak with a 4-1 victory over the Portland Timbers on Saturday night.
Manotas gave the Dynamo a 2-1 lead in the 39th minute, tapping in Alberth Elis' low cross. It was Manotas' 17th goal in all competitions this year.
HOUSTON (AP) — Diego Rubio scored in the 74th minute and Sporting Kansas City held on to beat the 10-man Houston Dynamo 1-0 on Saturday night.
Gianluca Busio flicked Graham Zusi's ball in front of Rubio, who caught it with a chest trap and finished with a right-footed shot. The 16-year-old Busio was making his first MLS start.
Houston's Alejandro Fuenmayor was sent off in the 14th minute for excessive contact with Busio during an aerial challenge.
TORONTO (AP) — Maxi Urruti scored in the 11th minute and Jesse Gonzalez made a series of big saves in FC Dallas' 1-0 victory over Toronto FC on Friday night.
Gonzalez got a hand to Jonathan Osorio's shot to preserve the victory as seven minutes of added time made for a wild finale. Referee Chris Penso issued three yellow cards to Dallas (5-1-5) for time-wasting, two in stoppage time.

HOUSTON (AP) — Memo Rodriguez scored the go-ahead goal in the 90th minute, and the Houston Dynamo beat the Los Angeles Galaxy 3-2 on Saturday night.
The Galaxy tied it at 2-all in the 85th minute. Zlatan Ibrahimovic fed Giovani dos Santos into open space up the left channel, and Ola Kamara finished dos Santos' wide cross.
Rodriguez put Houston (3-3-2) back in front five minutes later, heading home the rebound of Quioto's shot, which crashed off the crossbar.
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Ibson Barreto da Silva and Darwin Quintero each scored to help Minnesota United beat the Houston Dynamo 2-1 on Saturday night and end a four-game skid.
Ibson redirected a cross by Miguel Ibarra to give Minnesota (3-5-0) a 2-1 lead in the 70th minute. Ibarra tapped it to Martin on the right side, who led Ibarra toward the goal line where he fed Ibson for the finish just inside the far post.
