FOXBORO, Mass. (AP) — Zach Wilson threw two touchdown passes to Talon Shumway and Aleva Hifo ran for two and Brigham Young pulled away in the second half for a 35-14 win over Massachusetts on Saturday at the home of the New England Patriots.
The Cougars (5-5) fell into an early 10-0 hole but Wilson connected with Shumway for a 4-yard score late in the first period and a 15-yarder late in the second for a 14-10 lead.
Canada runs for 2 scores, BYU upsets No. 6 Wisconsin 24-21
MADISON, Wis. (AP) — BYU coach Kalani Sitake viewed Wisconsin's brand of smashmouth football as a blueprint for success.
The Cougars followed the plan to perfection Saturday at Camp Randall Stadium.
Squally Canada ran for 118 yards and two touchdowns and BYU handed mistake-prone Wisconsin its first nonconference home loss since 2003 with a 24-21 victory.
Canada runs for 213 yards, 1 TD; BYU beats UNLV 31-21
LAS VEGAS (AP) — Squally Canada had a career-best 213 yards rushing and one of BYU's season-high three rushing touchdowns to help the Cougars beat UNLV 31-21 on Friday night.
Canada, who had never topped the 100-yard plateau coming in, had a career-high 25 carries. Joe Critchlow, a freshman making his first career start, was 14-of-22 passing for 160 yards and one touchdown for BYU (3-8)
Minshew, Verity help East Carolina beat BYU 33-17, snap skid
GREENVILLE, N.C. (AP) — Backup quarterback Gardner Minshew threw two fourth-quarter touchdown passes and Jake Verity nailed four field goals as East Carolina pulled away for a 33-17 victory over BYU on Saturday night to snap a three-game skid.
