VANCOUVER, British Columbia (AP) — Bo Horvat says the Vancouver Canucks knew the power-play points would come eventually.
"We have a lot of sharp shooters out there and a lot of guys who can put the puck in the net, so it was just a matter of time before they started flooding in," Horvat said.
Brock Boeser had three power-play points and the Canucks defeated the Edmonton Oilers 4-2 Sunday night.

EDMONTON, Alberta (AP) — Connor McDavid and the Edmonton Oilers look awfully comfortable at home lately.
McDavid had two goals and an assist, Leon Draisaitl added three assists and the resurgent Oilers beat the Philadelphia Flyers 4-1 on Friday night.
Mikko Koskinen made 31 saves and is 7-0-0 on home ice this season. Edmonton has won six straight at Rogers Place to improve to 10-4-1 at home.

EDMONTON, Alberta (AP) — Mikko Koskinen made 24 saves in his third shutout of the season and Connor McDavid scored the only goal as the Edmonton Oilers defeated the Calgary Flames 1-0 on Sunday.
The Oilers have won three straight and have gone 6-1-0 in their last seven games.
The Flames had a five-game winning streak snapped, and are 9-2-1 in their last 12 outings.
David Rittich made 29 saves in a losing effort for Calgary.
Draisaitl, McDavid help Oilers overpower Wild for 7-2 win
EDMONTON, Alberta (AP) — This time, the Edmonton Oilers showed off their high-powered offense.
Leon Draisaitl scored twice and Connor McDavid had a goal and three assists, leading Edmonton to a 7-2 victory over the Minnesota Wild on Friday night.
Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, Zack Kassian, Alex Chiasson and Darnell Nurse also scored for the Oilers. Draisaitl assisted on Nurse's goal in the third period.
Cam Talbot made 31 saves to earn back-to-back victories after dropping his six previous starts.
Klefbom spoils Quick’s return, Oilers take down Kings 3-2
EDMONTON, Alberta (AP) — Oscar Klefbom has gone from a massive drought to pouring in game-winning goals.
The defenseman scored his second straight winner and added an assist as the Edmonton Oilers edged the Los Angeles Kings 3-2 on Thursday night.
Klefbom broke a 2-all tie with 2:20 remaining on his power-play drive from the point. He has scored in back-to-back games after going without a goal since March 4.

Brodziak scores twice, Oilers beat Red Wings 4-3
DETROIT (AP) — Kyle Brodziak didn't remember the last time he scored a goal for Edmonton. Back with the Oilers this season after nine years away, he got two Saturday night.
Brodziak scored his first two goals of the season and star center Connor McDavid ran his point streak to seven games in the Oilers' 4-3 win over the Detroit Red Wings.

EDMONTON, Alberta (AP) — The Edmonton Oilers got a signature early-season victory — and not just because it came against the defending Stanley Cup champions.
Rookie Evan Bouchard scored his first goal, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins had a goal and an assist and the Oilers beat the Washington Capitals 4-1 on Thursday night.
Alex Chiasson and Connor McDavid also scored for the Oilers, who snapped a two-game skid. Cam Talbot made 31 saves.
"It's definitely a confidence boost," Nugent-Hopkins said.
Crosby dazzles in overtime, lifts Penguins past Oilers 6-5
EDMONTON, Alberta (AP) — Sidney Crosby made a slick move through two defenders, skated through the slot and lifted a backhander into the net at 2:12 of overtime to give the Pittsburgh Penguins a 6-5 victory over the Edmonton Oilers on Tuesday night.
Alex Ovechkin has already done a "keg stand" with the Stanley Cup, performed shirtless pushups in a fountain full of teammates and lifted hockey's prestigious trophy so often in joy that it could be considered upper-body training.

PITTSBURGH (AP) — Evgeny Kuznetsov's breakway goal 5:27 into overtime gave the Washington Capitals a 2-1 win over the Pittsburgh Penguins in Game 6 on Monday night, and a berth in the Eastern Conference finals for the first time in 20 years.
Kuznetsov took a lead pass from Alexander Ovechkin and tucked the puck by Matt Murray to end Pittsburgh's two-year reign as Stanley Cup champions and propel the Capitals into the NHL's final four for just the third time in franchise history.

Chandler Stephenson latest Capitals forward to make case for playing time
Chandler Stephenson brought the puck to his left and Vegas defenseman Shea Theodore bit on the inside-out move, creating enough separation for the Capitals forward to rifle one past goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury.
Stephenson's goal on Sunday added to what has been a string of solid performances lately for the 23-year-old solidifying the case he's has been making for staying on the ice.

BOSTON (AP) — Alex Chiasson scored two third-period goals, the second on a short-handed breakaway with 8:29 left, and the Washington Capitals beat the Boston Bruins 5-3 on Thursday night.
Patrice Bergeron scored twice for Boston, moving past Bobby Orr on the team's all-time list with his 265th career goal and adding another in the final seconds.
Chiasson makes Capitals on camp tryout, signs 1-year deal
ARLINGTON, Va. (AP) — With what he called a chip on his shoulder, Alex Chiasson showed the Washington Capitals more than enough in training camp and the preseason to earn a contract.
Chiasson got one Wednesday, a $660,000, one-year deal after making the team on a professional tryout agreement. The 27-year-old winger who was not tendered a contract offer as a restricted free agent after last season by the Calgary Flames is sticking in the NHL with his fourth team.
Young, established NHL players are resorting to camp tryouts
When Alex Chiasson found himself without a job halfway through the offseason, frustration began to set in.
Even at age 26 with 106 points to his name in 320 NHL games, Chiasson wasn't tendered a contract by the Calgary Flames, and by late July his options were limited. In early September, he agreed to attend Washington Capitals training camp on a professional tryout agreement.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — After making 29 saves and picking up his first NHL victory, Anthony Stolarz said he never gave much thought about becoming the first New Jersey native to tend goal in the NHL.
"What I'll remember most is winning," Stolarz said after Philadelphia Flyers' 5-3 victory over the Calgary Flames on Sunday night. "Being able to win your first start is huge for me and my confidence."
Benn snaps goal drought, scores twice in 4-2 win over Flames
CALGARY, Alberta (AP) — Jamie Benn snapped out of an early season slump in a big way Thursday night.
The Dallas Stars captain ended a nine-game scoring drought with two goals, including the game-winner, in a 4-2 victory over the struggling Calgary Flames.
"It seems like I go through a streak like that every year. It just so happened to come pretty early this year," said Benn, who only had two goals in his first 13 games after a career-best 41 last season.
Kesler scores twice, Ducks beat Flames at home again
ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) — The Ducks haven't lost at home to the Calgary Flames since before the 2004-05 NHL lockout.
The streak's start even predates Rick Carlyle's first tenure with Anaheim.
Ryan Kesler scored two power-play goals, Jonathan Bernier had 25 saves and the Ducks beat the Flames 4-1 for their 24th consecutive home win against Calgary.
The victory broke the Philadelphia Flyers' mark of 23 straight wins at home against the Pittsburgh Penguins from February 1980 through January 1987.
