RENTON, Wash. (AP) — The Seattle Seahawks signed first-round pick running back Rashaad Penny to his rookie contract Wednesday.
The Seahawks have now signed six of their nine draft picks. Offensive tackle Jamarco Jones (fifth round) and quarterback Alex McGough (seventh round) signed earlier this week.
Penny was taken with the 27th overall selection. His contract is for four years with a team option for a fifth.

FIU sets records in 63-45 win over UMass
MIAMI (AP) — Alex McGough passed for 296 yards and three touchdowns and added 108 rushing yards and another score, and FIU beat UMass 63-45 on Saturday to tie a program record for most wins in a season.
FIU (8-4), which also won eight games in 2011, set a program record with 674 total yards, topping 668 at Troy in 2010. The Golden Panthers gained 379 yards on the ground — with six touchdowns — for the third most rushing yards.
FIU scores 28 unanswered points to defeat W. Kentucky 41-17
MIAMI (AP) — D'Vonte Price returned a fumbled fake punt 38 yards for a TD during a surge of 28 unanswered points that shot FIU past Western Kentucky 41-17 Friday night.
Alex McGough threw for 227 yards with a touchdown to Darius Scott, and Shawndarrius Phillips pounded the ball 69 yards on 17 carries with two TDs for the Panthers (7-4, 5-3 Conference USA).
Florida Atlantic roughs up Florida International 52-24
BOCA RATON, Fla. (AP) — Jason Driskel threw four touchdown passes, completing 18 of 25 for 239 yards, and Florida Atlantic cruised to a 52-24 victory over Florida International on Saturday night.
Devin Singletary rushed for 164 yards and two scores, including a 70-yard TD run late in the first quarter that gave the Owls (8-3, 7-0 Conference USA) a 14-0 lead.
Lawry, Williams lead Old Dominion over FIU 37-30
MIAMI (AP) — Ray Lawry ran for 168 yards and accounted for three touchdowns, Steven Williams threw a pair of touchdown passes and Old Dominion beat Florida International 37-30 on Saturday night.
Lawry ran for a 40-yard touchdown, and Williams threw a 9-yard TD pass to Melvin Vaughn and an 11-yarder to Lawry to help Old Dominion build a 24-14 halftime lead.
McGough leads FIU over UT San Antonio 14-7
UNIVERSITY PARK, Fla. (AP) — Alex McGough tossed two third-quarter touchdown passes and the Florida International defense did the rest in a 14-7 victory over Texas-San Antonio on Saturday.
After a scoreless first half, McGough led the Golden Panthers (6-2, 4-1 Conference USA) on a 15-play, 93-yard drive that ate up 8:26 of the clock. McGough capped the drive with a 13-yard TD pass to Thomas Owens.
Borregales kicks 3 FGs, FIU beats Tulane 23-10
MIAMI (AP) — Jose Borregales kicked three field goals, Thomas Owens had six receptions for 152 yards and FIU beat Tulane 23-10 Saturday night.
Borregales, a freshman, connected from 22, 42 and 39 yards and has made 6 of 7 attempts this season. Alex McGough passed for 220 with one touchdown and added 42 yards rushing on three carries, but threw two interceptions.
After facing two under-center, triple-option teams in Navy and Army, Tulane (3-2) is preparing for something almost as unusual this week.
Florida International (3-2) runs a pro set under former Miami Hurricanes and Cleveland Browns coach Butch Davis, a style that has become increasingly rare in a spread-dominated sport.
Thomas has 3 TDs to lift Middle Tennessee past FIU 37-17
MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (AP) — Tavares Thomas had just six carries but punched in three of them for touchdowns Saturday to lift Middle Tennessee to a 37-17 win over Florida International.
Middle Tennessee (3-3, 1-1 Conference USA) also got a touchdown from Brad Anderson, who scored with a 29-yard throw from John Urzua and finished with a career-high 112 yards rushing on 11 carries.
McGough leads comeback as FIU tops Charlotte, 30-29
UNIVERSITY PARK, Fla. (AP) — Alex McGough threw for one touchdown and ran for two more to spark Florida International's come-from-behind, 30-29 victory over Charlotte Saturday night in a home opener delayed by Hurricane Irma.
The Panthers (3-1, 2-0 Conference USA) were forced to relocate their original, September 8 home opener with Alcorn State to Birmingham, Alabama because of the hurricane.
FIU tops Rice in C-USA opener, 13-7
HOUSTON (AP) — Jose Borregales kicked field goals from 37 and 44-yards out to help give Florida International a 13-7 win over Rice in its Conference USA opener Saturday night.
Rice drove to the FIU 9 in the final moments, but the Panthers got a fourth-down stop to put the game away.
FIU had its game at Indiana last Saturday cancelled because of Hurricane Irma and its 17-10 win over Alcorn State September 8 was moved to Birmingham, Alabama because of the storm.
FIU tops Alcorn State 17-10 for Butch Davis’ 1st program win
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) — Alex McGough threw for 328 yards and had a go-ahead touchdown run with 1:12 remaining to help Florida International beat FCS Alcorn State 17-10 on Friday night for coach Butch Davis' first victory at the school.
Admission was free for the crowd of 5,017 at the game relocated from Miami to the historic Legion Field due to Hurricane Irma.

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) — McKenzie Milton threw for four touchdowns and 360 yards, and Central Florida routed Florida International 61-17 in Thursday night's season opener to spoil coach Butch Davis' return to the field for the first time since 2010.
Milton capped the opening drive with a 22-yard scoring pass to Jordan Atkins, and the Knights capitalized on an interception and a safety to lead 40-10 at halftime.
Louisiana Tech wins C-USA showdown with FIU, 44-24
MIAMI (AP) — Carlos Henderson's 92-yard kickoff return and a big interception by Xavier Woods helped Louisiana Tech blunt Florida International comebacks and take a 44-24 victory Saturday night.
After FIU's Alex McGough hit Thomas Owens for a 6-yard pass to get within 37-24 with 6:14 left, Henderson took the ensuing kickoff the distance. After FIU got within 10 in the third quarter, Woods' 45-yard return to the FIU 2 set up a score.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — Alex McGough accounted for three touchdowns, including a 9-yard scoring pass to Jonnu Smith with 1:05 to play, and Florida International beat Charlotte 27-26 on Saturday night for its third win in a row.
McGough completed 26 of 42 passes for 315 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions and added a 19-yard scoring run in the first quarter.

EL PASO, Texas (AP) — Alex McGough threw for three touchdowns and Alex Gardner ran for another as Florida International picked up its second straight win, running past UTEP 35-21 on Saturday night.
McGough threw for 241 yards, Gardner rushed for 141, and Anthony Jones ran for 117 yards as the Golden Panthers (2-4, 2-0 Conference USA) amassed 488 yards while limiting UTEP (1-5, 0-3) to 276 total yards.
McGough rallies FIU to 33-31 win over FAU
MIAMI (AP) — Alex McGough ran for two touchdowns and passed for another, Austin Taylor kicked the go-ahead field goal and Florida International beat Florida Atlantic 33-31 on Saturday in a game that featured five lead changes.
FAU (1-4, 0-1 Conference USA) led 24-14 after Azeez Al-Shaair intercepted McGough's pass on the first play of the second half and returned it 30 yards for a score.
Ford throws 3TDs to lead UMass past FIU 21-13
AMHERST, Mass. (AP) — Andrew Ford threw three touchdown passes and Massachusetts held on beat Florida International 21-13 on Saturday night.
Massachusetts (1-2) led 14-3 at the half when Ford completed second quarter touchdown passes of 26 yards to Jalen Williams and 31 yards to Andy Isabella.
FIU (0-3) closed to 14-10 on Alex Gardner's 2-yard score, and Austin Taylor made a 35-yard field goal to reduce the deficit to one.
