JONESBORO, Ark. (AP) — Nijal Pearson had 21 points as Texas State beat Arkansas State 84-74 on Thursday night.
Alonzo Sule had 18 points and 10 rebounds for Texas State (20-5, 9-3 Sun Belt Conference). Jaylen Shead added 17 points. Alex Peacock had nine rebounds for the visiting team.
Tre'Larenz Nottingham, who was second on the Bobcats in scoring heading into the matchup with 14 points per game, scored 7 points on 1-of-12 shooting.
Pearson with 17, Texas St. beats Coastal Carolina 65-57
SAN MARCOS, Texas (AP) — Nijal Pearson scored 17 points and Texas State beat Coastal Carolina 65-57 on Saturday.
Alex Peacock added 14 points, eight rebounds and four steals for the Bobcats (19-5, 8-3 Sun Belt). Tre'Larenz Nottingham also had 14 points.
Texas State shot 46 percent from the field compared to 35 percent for Coastal Carolina and had a 37-27 rebounding advantage.
The Bobcats scored first and led all the way, building to a 38-23 advantage at the break.
Texas State alone atop Sun Belt with win over Georgia State
ATLANTA (AP) — Nijal Pearson scored 27 points with a season-high seven 3-pointers to help Texas State beat Georgia State 81-68 in a battle for first place in the Sun Belt Conference on Thursday night.
Texas State continued its best start since the 1959-60 season. Tre Nottingham and Alex Peacock added 13 points each for the Bobcats (17-3, 6-1).
Texas State pulled away with 18 straight points to lead 79-59 with 2:56 left on Pearson's third 3-pointer during the run.
Texas State uses big run to beat Arkansas State 77-64
SAN MARCOS, Texas (AP) — Nijal Pearson had 29 points and 11 rebounds and Texas State used a 30-0 run to beat Arkansas State 77-64 on Saturday.
Tre'Larenz Nottingham added 13 points and eight rebounds and Alex Peacock scored 10 points for Texas State. The Bobcats (16-3, 5-1 Sun Belt), who have won four in a row and 14 of their last 16, moved into a tie with Georgia State atop the conference standings.

CONWAY, S.C. (AP) — Alex Peacock scored 13 points and Texas State held off a late rally to beat Coastal Carolina 65-61 on Thursday night.
Eric Terry, who finished with 10 points, hit a jumper to give Texas State a 64-61 lead with 11 seconds left and Tre'larenz Nottingham split a pair of free throws with two seconds left to cap the scoring.
Benlevi scores 19, Mitchell adds 16 in Georgia State victory
SAN MARCOS, Texas (AP) — Malik Benlevi scored 19 points, Devin Mitchell added 16 points and they combined to make eight 3-pointers in Georgia State's 73-69 victory over Texas State on Saturday night.
Mitchell made 4 of 6 3-pointers and Benlevi made 4 of 7 from beyond the arc for the Panthers (11-4, 2-0 Sun Belt). Kane Williams had 17 points on 7-of-10 shooting and D'Marcus Simonds had 12 rebounds.
Tre Nottingham scored 17 points for Texas State (12-3, 1-1).

SAN MARCOS, Texas (AP) — Alonzo Sule nailed 10 of 11 shots from the floor for a career-high 23 points while grabbing 10 rebounds to help Texas State overcome a Houston Baptist rally for its seventh straight victory, 90-80 on Saturday.
Texas State (9-1) is off to its best start since 1952-53. The Bobcats' only loss was to Drake, 75-69, in the third game of the season.
Pearson scores 25 points, leads Texas State past Rice 74-60
SAN MARCOS, Texas (AP) — Nijal Pearson made five 3-pointers and scored 25 points to help Texas State roll to a 74-60 victory over Rice on Wednesday night.
Pearson was 9 of 16 from the floor. Eric Terry added 11 points and Tre'Larenz Nottingham had 10 for Texas State (6-1), which has won four in a row.
Chris Mullins scored 12 points and Quentin Millora-Brown had 10 for Rice (3-5). The freshmen duo combined for 8-of-13 shooting from the field while the rest of the team shot 11 of 40 (27.5 percent).

SAN MARCOS, Texas (AP) — Nijal Pearson scored 21 points and Texas State won its season opener with a 67-57 victory over Air Force on Friday night.
Air Force cut an eight-point deficit when Sid Tomes converted a 4-point play to pull the Falcons to 60-54. Air Force got a point closer when Ryan Swan made a 3-pointer to make it 62-57 with 1:10 remaining but the Bobcats made their final six free-throw attempts to seal it.
Hervey has 33 points, UT Arlington holds off Texas St. in OT
ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) — Kevin Hervey had 33 points, eight rebounds and four blocks as UT Arlington held on to beat Texas State 70-68 in overtime on Saturday night.
Hervey, who became the all-time rebound leader at UTA, scored two free throws with 1:08 left in the extra period to give the Mavericks the win. Hervey missed a 3-point attempt with :09 remaining. The Bobcats got the rebound and got a shot off at the buzzer but it fell short.
Simonds finishes strong as Georgia St. beats Texas St. 54-50
ATLANTA (AP) — D'Marcus Simonds scored eight of his 20 points in the final minute as Georgia State rallied to slip past Texas State 54-50 in a battle for second place in the Sun Belt Conference on Saturday afternoon.
Georgia State (16-6, 7-2) trails only Louisiana in the conference standings.
Simonds outscored Texas State 8-2 in the final 1:25 as he hit a jumper and a layup for a 50-48 lead with 57 seconds left. He then made four straight free throws to cap the scoring and seal the win.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) — Alex Peacock made his only field goal count, hitting a long, buzzer-beating jumper to lift Texas State to a 72-70 victory over Little Rock on Saturday night.
Peacock's winner came after Little Rock (5-14, 2-4 Sun Belt) tied the game after scoring on Andre Jones' 3-pointer with 14 seconds left and, after a Bobcats turnover, an Oliver Black dunk with five seconds remaining.

SAN MARCOS, Texas (AP) — Alex Peacock scored 18 points and his layup with 26 seconds remaining preserved Texas State's 72-69 win against South Alabama on Thursday night.
Rodrick Sikes made two free throws to narrow South Alabama's deficit to 70-69 before Peacock's layup. Texas State called timeout and Sikes missed a 3-point attempt. The Jaguars got the offensive rebound but Josh Ajayi missed his attempt.
King has double-double, Texas State routs Ecclesia 85-43
SAN MARCOS, Texas (AP) — Immanuel King scored 14 points and grabbed a career-best 13 rebounds to lead Texas State in an 85-43 rout of Ecclesia on Tuesday night.
King was 7 of 12 from the field. Alex Peacock and Nijal Pearson each added 11 points for Texas State (6-6), which snapped a two-game losing skid.
Milacio Freeland scored 12 points to lead Ecclesia, which was 13-of-64 shooting (20 percent).
Peacock nearly has triple-double in Texas State’s 66-53 win
SAN MARCOS, Texas (AP) — Alex Peacock narrowly missed a triple-double, scoring 21 points with nine assists and nine rebounds to lead Texas State over Texas A&M-Corpus Christi 66-53 on Wednesday night.
Peacock, a 6-foot-7 junior-college transfer, easily eclipsed his season bests in all three categories and added three steals. He made 7 of 8 shots, including both of his 3-pointers.
