Juventus defender Alex Sandro renews contract until 2023
TURIN, Italy (AP) — Brazil defender Alex Sandro renewed his contract with Juventus until June 2023.
Alex Sandro, 27, signed a five-year deal with Juventus when he moved from Porto in 2015. Since then, the left back has made more appearances for the Bianconeri than any other defender. He has also provided the most assists.
He has scored nine goals and made 18 assists in 134 appearances for Juventus. He has won three Italian league and cup doubles with the team.
Injured Coutinho, Marcelo dropped for Brazil friendlies
RIO DE JANEIRO (AP) — Barcelona midfielder Philippe Coutinho and Real Madrid left back Marcelo have been dropped for Brazil's upcoming friendlies in England because of thigh injuries.
Beijing Guoan's Renato Augusto and Juventus' Alex Sandro will be their replacements for games against Uruguay in London on Nov. 16 and Cameroon in Milton Keynes on Nov. 20.
Coutinho, who has a left thigh injury, and Marcelo, who injured his right thigh, would have started the games.

RIYADH, Saudi Arabia (AP) — Gabriel Jesus and Alex Sandro scored a goal each as Brazil defeated Saudi Arabia 2-0 in a friendly on Friday.
Jesus opened the scoring after a pass by Neymar in the 43rd minute and Alex Sandro sealed the victory with a header near the end of the match at King Saud University Stadium.
Dutch referee Danny Makkelie sent off Saudi goalkeeper Mohammed Al-Owais in the 84th after a video review showed he touched the ball with his hand out of his box.
Jesus and Marcelo out of Brazil’s 1st post-World Cup squad
RIO DE JANEIRO (AP) — Brazil coach Tite has left striker Gabriel Jesus and defender Marcelo out of his squad for two friendlies next month in the United States.
The matches against the United States and El Salvador will be the team's first since the World Cup in Russia.
Tite says he wants to give opportunities to new players ahead of next year's Copa America, which will be played in Brazil.

But there was an incident in the first half that took center stage.
