CHICAGO (AP) — The United States women's soccer team will open next year with games at World Cup host France and Spain and finish a 10-game schedule leading to the tournament with a send-off match against Mexico at Harrison, New Jersey, on May 26.
The defending world champion Americans play France at Le Havre on Jan. 19 and face Spain at Alicante three days later, the U.S. Soccer Federation said Thursday.

Spain: British man arrested in past child abuse case
MADRID (AP) — Spanish police say they have arrested a British man wanted by U.K. authorities in a sexual abuse case against a minor that was first reported over 20 years ago.
The man was arrested Thursday in Alicante, southeast of Madrid.
Authorities say the man befriended the victim's father to approach the minor, who he repeatedly abused at his home between October 1994 and the spring of 1995.
