COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) — Two-time U.S. pairs champions Alexa Scimeca-Knierim and Chris Knierim have decided to change their coaches and will work with Olympic gold medalist Aliona Savchenko and her group beginning this summer.
Scimeca-Knierim and Knierim, who represented the U.S. at the Pyeongchang Olympics, had been working with Dalilah Sappenfield in Colorado Springs for the past five-plus years.

PYEONGCHANG, South Korea (AP) — After several weather delays, Mikaela Shiffrin finally made her Pyeongchang Olympic debut, speeding to gold in the women's giant slalom. Aksel Lund Svindal won the men's downhill, making the 35-year-old Norwegian the oldest-ever Olympic gold medalist in Alpine skiing. And the German pairs figure skaters Aliona Savchenko and Bruno Massot won gold with a flawless free skate.

GANGNEUNG, South Korea (AP) — It took Aliona Savchenko five trips to the Winter Games, working with three different partners and representing two different nations, to finally achieve Olympic glory.
It also took Bruno Massot lifting her to the top step of the podium.
Tarasova and Morozov win gold at European championships
OSTRAVA, Czech Republic (AP) — Evgenia Tarasova and Vladimir Morozov won gold in the pairs competition at the European championships on Thursday for their first continental title.
Leading after the short program by more than six points, the Russians performed to "Music" by John Miles in the second best free skate. Without visible flaws and with a cleanly landed throw triple salchow and throw triple loop, it was enough to win overall.
