STANFORD, Calif. (AP) — Top-seeded Garbine Muguruza rolled past Croatia's Ana Konjuh 6-1, 6-3 in just over an hour on Friday to reach the semifinals of the Bank of the West Classic.
The reigning Wimbledon champion broke Konjuh's serve twice for an early 3-0 lead and never trailed in the match.

The top-seeded Muguruza overwhelmed the 17-year-old American in less than an hour.
"Kayla has just won the US Open in juniors and she's just very promising, so I knew I had to be concentrated today," Muguruza said.

PRAGUE (AP) — Second-seeded Caroline Wozniacki advanced to the second round of the Prague Open by beating Misaki Doi of Japan 6-0, 7-5 Tuesday.
The former No. 1 from Denmark will next face Jelena Ostapenko.
Also, third-seeded Barbora Strycova dispatched Julia Goerges of Germany 6-4, 6-0 to play another Czech, qualifier Lucie Hradecka.
Kerber and Wozniacki reach Dubai Championships semifinals
DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (AP) — Top-seeded Angelique Kerber journeyed to her first Dubai Tennis Championships semifinals, while Caroline Wozniacki reached her sixth semi at the tournament on Thursday.
Kerber, who is two match wins away from returning to the No. 1 ranking, beat Ana Konjuh of Croatia 6-3, 6-2 in the quarterfinals.
Kerber raced to 4-0, and won the remaining games from 2-2 in the second set.
American teen Bellis upsets Radwanska in Dubai
DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (AP) — American teen Catherine "CiCi" Bellis captured her first career Top 10 win on Wednesday when she upset sixth-ranked Agnieszka Radwanska 6-4, 2-6, 6-2 in the third round at the Dubai Tennis Championships.
"It's definitely, obviously, the biggest win of my career, and probably one of the best days of my life," Bellis said.
The 17-year-old Bellis, ranked 70th, had lost her previous four matches against top 10 opponents.
Halep withdraws from St. Petersburg event with knee injury
ST. PETERSBURG, Russia (AP) — Simona Halep withdrew from the St. Petersburg Ladies Trophy on Friday because of a knee injury, the same issue that she blamed for her opening-round loss at the Australian Open.
The fourth-ranked Romanian had said she was pain-free after her win over Ana Konjuh this week.
Halep was the top-seeded player in St. Petersburg. Her withdrawal sends Russian wild-card entry Natalia Vikhlyantseva into the semifinals, matching her best showing at a WTA tournament.

AUCKLAND, New Zealand (AP) — American Lauren Davis claimed the first WTA Title of her six-year professional career when she beat Croatian teenager Ana Konjuh 6-3, 6-1 in Saturday's final of the ASB Classic.
The 23-year-old Ohio-born resident of Boca Raton ousted the tournament's last surviving seed when she swept past the eighth-seeded Konjuh in 71 minutes.

AUCKLAND, New Zealand (AP) — Eighth-seeded Ana Konjuh prevented a complete rout of seeded players at the ASB Tennis Classic when she beat 2016 runner-up Julia Goerges 6-3, 4-6, 6-3 on Friday to join American Lauren Davis in the final.
