Andy Isabella of UMass posted only the third 300-yard receiving game in five years when he had 303 yards on nine catches against Liberty.
The 5-foot-10, 190-pound senior from Mayfield, Ohio, is the nation's leading receiver, with 77 catches for 1,394 yards.
His 303 yards Saturday easily broke former New York Giants star Victor Cruz's school record of 262 yards on 13 catches against James Madison in 2008.
Garcia FG gives UMass 62-59 win over Liberty in 3 OT
AMHERST, Mass. (AP) — Cooper Garcia kicked a field goal that made the difference as UMass beat Liberty 62-59 in triple overtime on Saturday night.
With the score tied 59-all in the third overtime, Jarell Addo intercepted a Stephen Calvert pass, denying Liberty a scoring opportunity. Six plays later, Garcia booted a 22-yard field goal for the win.
UMass romps to 63-15 win over Duquesne
AMHERST, Mass. (AP) — Andrew Ford passed for 186 yards and two touchdowns and Bilal Ally rushed for 109 yards and a score on just nine carries as Massachusetts romped to 63-15 win over Duquesne in the opener for both teams Saturday night.
UMass wins a game on the road, hands BYU its 9th loss, 16-10
PROVO, Utah (AP) — Andrew Ford fired a 40-yard touchdown pass to Andy Isabella and Logan Laurent kicked three field goals to stake UMass to a 16-0 lead at BYU and the Minutemen held on to post a 16-10 victory Saturday — earning a fourth win for the first time as an FBS school.
UMass (4-7) started playing FBS football in 2012 and never won more than three games nor won a road game against a team outside of the Mid-American Conference.
Ford-Isabella combo leads UMass past Maine 44-31
BOSTON (AP) — Andrew Ford threw for 355 yards and four touchdowns, three to Andy Isabella, and Marquis Young broke free for a 33-yard score with 1:57 to play as Massachusetts defeated Maine 44-31 at Fenway Park on Saturday night.
Ford was 21-of-39 passing and surpassed 5,000 yards for his career, Isabella had eight catches for 152 yards and Young carried 19 times for 123 yards. Lee Moses also returned an interception 70 yards for a score for the Minutemen (3-7).
Hoy TD, 8 sacks help Old Dominion top UMass 17-7
AMHERST, Mass. (AP) — Jordan Hoy scored his first career touchdown on a 7-yard sneak to secure Old Dominion's 17-7 win over Massachusetts on Saturday.
Hoy's run, with 6:59 to play, capped a nine-play, 34-yard drive that was set up on the Monarch's previous possession. Old Dominion had marched 93 yards on 16 plays, eating up more than 7½ minutes, before being stopped on downs at the UMass 2.
Ford throws 3TDs to lead UMass past FIU 21-13
AMHERST, Mass. (AP) — Andrew Ford threw three touchdown passes and Massachusetts held on beat Florida International 21-13 on Saturday night.
Massachusetts (1-2) led 14-3 at the half when Ford completed second quarter touchdown passes of 26 yards to Jalen Williams and 31 yards to Andy Isabella.
FIU (0-3) closed to 14-10 on Alex Gardner's 2-yard score, and Austin Taylor made a 35-yard field goal to reduce the deficit to one.
