Alabama DB Saivion Smith declares for NFL draft
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) — Alabama cornerback Saivion Smith is entering the NFL draft.
Smith announced his decision Saturday on Twitter, becoming the fifth Crimson Tide underclassmen to turn pro this week.
The junior college transfer played in all 15 games during his lone season at Alabama, starting 12. He had 60 tackles, three interceptions and eight tackles for loss.
Smith was a five-star recruit who played one season at LSU before transferring to Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College.
Injured Alabama LB Anfernee Jennings to miss title game
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) — Alabama starting linebacker Anfernee Jennings says he will miss the national championship game against Georgia with a left knee injury sustained in the semifinals.
Jennings said on Twitter Wednesday he had successful surgery and will have an MRI on Friday.

NASHVILLE -- Before it played one snap in Saturday's 59-0 win at Vanderbilt, Alabama’s defense was back to full strength.
Freshman linebacker Dylan Moses raced down the field on the opening kickoff. When he departed, Anfernee Jennings and Rashaan Evans ran on, each starting their first game back from injuries.
Jennings made the tackle on Vanderbilt’s first offensive snap. He and Evans played without limitations while Moses cycled in as a key reserve.

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) — Alabama star defender Tim Williams sat out the first half Saturday night against Kentucky.
The top-ranked Crimson Tide's outside linebacker was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of carrying a pistol without a permit early Thursday morning. Williams was replaced by redshirt freshman Anfernee Jennings in the starting lineup but came in on the opening drive of the third quarter.
