The 6-foot-5 Watson made the announcement on his Twitter account Wednesday. Dayton also announced Watson's plans. Coach Anthony Grant says Watson has "seen firsthand what it takes to be successful at this level."
Silva Powers South Carolina to 78-61 Win Over FIU
MIAMI (AP) — Chris Silva is one of few key holdovers from last year's Final Four team and looks to be the focal point for South Carolina this year.
Silva scored a career-high 26 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead South Carolina to a 78-61 win over FIU on Monday night.
"For us to be a good team, he has to become that focal guy for us offensively and he wants that so it's my job to help him get there," South Carolina coach Frank Martin said.
Dayton opens Grant era with 78-77 win over Ball State
DAYTON, Ohio (AP) — Josh Cunningham caught a lob from Xeyrius Williams and laid it in with one second left, and Dayton opened the Anthony Grant era with a 78-77 win over Ball State in Friday night's season opener for both teams.
Tayler Persons' layup with three seconds to go put the Cardinals up 77-76 before Williams threw the ball down court and Cunningham made the winner.
