SUNRISE, Fla. (AP) — Nikita Kucherov got back on the board, and the Tampa Bay Lightning continued their roll toward the top seed in the NHL playoffs.
Kucherov had two goals and an assist to lift Tampa Bay over the Florida Panthers 5-2 on Sunday night. Kucherov's first-period goal ended an 11-game span without a goal. It was his first since Jan. 12 against Buffalo.
"We knew it was a matter of time, but it was a big one for us," coach Jon Cooper said.

Gourde had a breakaway goal 4:25 into overtime and the Lightning rallied from a three-goal deficit to beat the Chicago Blackhawks 5-4 on Monday night.
Playing in his 13th game this season and 15th overall, Gourde beat Scott Darling after Victor Hedman set up the winner with his third assist of the game.

Kucherov had his third career hat trick to lead Tampa Bay to a 6-3 victory over Boston on Thursday night, snapping the Lightning's three-game losing streak and helping them pull three points behind the Bruins for the last playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.
"It's huge," Lightning forward Jonathan Drouin said. "We didn't have room for error tonight, but we can't be too high on ourselves."
TAMPA, Fla. (AP) — Ben Bishop provided a much-needed lift for the Tampa Bay Lightning.
Bishop made 24 saves in his return after missing nine games with a lower-body injury, Ondrej Palat had two goals and an assist, and the Lightning beat the Buffalo Sabres 4-2 on Thursday night.
"It's nice to get those competitive juices going," Bishop said. "Obviously, two points makes it better."
