PHOENIX (AP) — The Arizona Diamondbacks have avoided arbitration with nine of their 10 arbitration-eligible players, leaving only left-handed reliever T.J. McFarland without a deal.
Among those reaching agreements Friday were shortstop Nick Ahmed, outfielder David Peralta, third baseman Jake Lamb and starting pitcher Robbie Ray.
John Ryan Murphy, D-Backs reach $900,000, 1-year deal
PHOENIX (AP) — Catcher John Ryan Murphy and the Arizona Diamondbacks agreed to a $900,000, one-year contract, a raise from his $558,000 salary last year.
The 27-year-old set career bests with nine homers and 24 RBIs in 223 plate appearances, hitting .202. He split time behind the plate with Alex Avila and Jeff Mathis, who left for Texas.

CINCINNATI (AP) — Arizona's road trip against three last-place teams is off to a tough start.
Archie Bradley struggled during Cincinnati's four-run eighth inning, and the Diamondbacks lost 6-3 to the Reds on Saturday night.
Arizona dropped back-to-back games for the first time in more than two weeks. The Diamondbacks also remained in a tie for the NL West lead with the Los Angeles Dodgers, who lost 3-2 at Colorado.
Longoria’s late homer leads Giants past Diamondbacks
PHOENIX (AP) — Evan Longoria's last hit was the biggest one — a tiebreaking homer in the eighth.
Longoria's solo shot in the eighth led the San Francisco Giants to a 3-2 win over the Arizona Diamondbacks on Sunday.
He drilled Diamondbacks reliever Archie Bradley's 2-2, 97 mile-per-hour fastball with one out into the outcropping of seats in left-center field. It was Longoria's 12th home run of the season.
SAN DIEGO (AP) — Three home runs, two video reviews that went their way and some nice defense helped the Arizona Diamondbacks beat the San Diego Padres 5-4 Sunday for a three-game sweep.
Paul Goldschmidt and Nick Ahmed each hit a two-run homer and A.J. Pollock also connected for the Diamondbacks, who bounced back nicely after a disappointing loss Thursday at the Chicago Cubs in which they blew a five-run lead.
PHOENIX (AP) — The Colorado Rockies allowed a run on a passed ball, another when a player failed to cover the bag on a steal attempt. A third came in when a runner scored from second base on a wild pitch.
The miscues and a whole lot of hits by the Arizona Diamondbacks put the Rockies in three-run holes twice.
They kept battling back and ended up with their sixth straight victory thanks to a player with two career home runs hitting a grand slam against one of baseball's best relievers.

PHOENIX (AP) — The last time the Colorado Rockies played at Chase Field was one wild October night.
It was the National League wild-card game, and the Arizona Diamondbacks emerged with an 11-8 victory in a game that featured 30 hits, 17 by Arizona. The Diamondbacks had four triples, two by Ketel Marte, a crucial one late by A.J. Pollock and a highly unexpected one, driving in two runs, from reliever Archie Bradley.
"That game will linger in my memory as long as I'm alive," Bradley said.
D-backs face decisions at closer, middle infield
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (AP) — With two weeks left of spring training, the Arizona Diamondbacks still are grappling with a pair of significant unresolved issues.
One, who is the closer? Two, how to sort out the crowd at middle infield?
There is still plenty of time to work things out, manager Torey Lovullo said.
"I feel like it's still a little bit too early," he said, "but everybody is paying a lot of attention to some very key spots and you hit on a couple of them."
The bullpen cart is back in the big leagues.
Nearly a quarter-century since relievers stopped catching rides to the mound, the Arizona Diamondbacks said Tuesday they will use a buggy — topped by the requisite oversized team cap — to transport pitchers from both bullpens at Chase Field.
"I don't know how it will be getting driven in, but I think it's a cool idea and we'll have some fun with it," Diamondbacks closer candidate Archie Bradley said.

Arizona's season ended in a 3-1 defeat Monday night to the Los Angeles Dodgers in Game 3 of an NL Division Series, and Bradley wanted to soak it in. The young, bearded hurler has become a local favorite for his hard-nosed, emotional style, and with his 2 2/3 innings complete, he got a chance to take note of the atmosphere.

Bonifacio's homer, his 17th, came off Archie Bradley (3-3) with Paulo Orlando and Ramon Torres aboard.

PHOENIX (AP) — Archie Bradley liked his strong finish to the season.
The Diamondbacks right-hander struck out a career high 11, tying the club's rookie franchise record for a single game in Arizona's 9-5 win over the San Diego Padres on Saturday night.
Bradley, whose 2015 season was limited after he took a line drive off his face in April, held the Padres to two runs on seven hits and will finish 8-9 while going 4-1 over his last seven starts.

PHOENIX (AP) — Jake Lamb and Phil Gosselin each hit two-run homers during a five-run fifth inning to help the Arizona Diamondbacks beat the Milwaukee Brewers 9-3 on Sunday.
