TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) — The Arizona Cardinals have signed outside linebacker Brooks Reed to a one-year contract.
Reed, who grew up in Tucson and played at the University of Arizona, has played in eight NFL seasons, four with the Houston Texans and the last four with the Atlanta Falcons.
The 31-year-old Reed has played in 120 NFL games, 86 as a starter. He appeared in 60 games, 34 as a starter, at defensive end with the Falcons. He is projected to move to outside linebacker in Arizona's 3-4 defense.

Vallejo appeared in 13 games for Cleveland last season, making one start. The Browns claimed him off waivers from Buffalo.
He was a sixth-round selection by the Bills out of Boise State in the 2017 draft. Vallejo had 20 tackles on defense and seven on special teams for the Browns last year. He also had one forced fumble.

Southern California hired North Texas offensive coordinator Graham Harrell as its offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach on Wednesday night, filling the vacancy abruptly left by Kliff Kingsbury with a coach holding remarkably similar credentials.
Trojans head coach Clay Helton picked Harrell just over three weeks after Kingsbury ended his nearly five-week tenure in the job to become the head coach of the NFL's Arizona Cardinals.

PHOENIX (AP) — Former Denver Broncos head coach Vance Joseph has been hired as the defensive coordinator on new Arizona Cardinals coach Kliff Kingsbury's staff.
General manager Steve Keim had said he wanted a veteran defensive coordinator to pair with Kingsbury, who has no NFL coaching experience and will focus on offense.
Joseph was fired on Dec. 31 after two seasons as coach of the Broncos. He has 14 years of coaching experience in the NFL, 12 on the defensive side of the ball.

Mitchell had 60 receptions for 867 yards and three touchdowns in 11 games last season for the Edmonton Eskimos. In 19 career games in three seasons with the Eskimos, the former Northwestern State player had 97 catches for 1,418 yards and six touchdowns.

Wilks' firing Monday followed a 3-13 season, the franchise's worst record in 18 years and the worst in the NFL this season.
He is the first Cardinals coach to be fired after one season since Joe Kuharich in 1952.
At a news conference, team President Michael Bidwill called Wilks "one of the hardest-working coaches I've ever been around" and a man respected throughout the organization.
