El Salvador arrests 4 more in black widow killing scheme
SAN SALVADOR, El Salvador (AP) — Authorities in El Salvador say they have arrested four more people allegedly tied to the "black widow" killing scheme in which a gang arranged marriages, killed the husbands and then made their wives collect life insurance policies.
Seven people were already in custody. Police said Friday the new arrests include a doctor and a lawyer who were part of the Mara Salvatrucha criminal structure.

The court ordered the four women and three men tried on charges including homicide, human trafficking and arranged marriage.

BASTI LASHARI, Pakistan (AP) — Pakistani police said Wednesday they arrested a woman for allegedly plotting with her newly married niece to poison the young woman's husband with tainted milk that would eventually kill him and 17 other relatives in a remote village.
Investigators believe the boyfriend of 21-year-old newlywed Aasia Bibi incited her to kill her husband, Mohammad Amjad, by poisoning his milk with rat poison because she was not happy in her arranged marriage. Amjad was her cousin.

TRENTON, N.J. (AP) — Gov. Chris Christie said Thursday that he won't ban all teens in New Jersey under 18 from getting married, and asked lawmakers to instead require a judge's approval for some younger teens to get a marriage license.
The Republican said in a conditional veto of a bill passed by lawmakers in March that they should change it to require a judge to approve a marriage license for a 16- or 17-year-old. He would also prohibit a marriage license for anyone under 16.

Christie to decide on ban on minors getting married
TRENTON, N.J. (AP) — Teenagers in New Jersey would be prevented from getting married until they turn 18 under a bill lawmakers have sent to Republican Gov. Chris Christie's desk.
The state Senate passed the measure on Monday by a 26-5 vote. The Assembly has already passed the measure.
Under current state law, 16- and 17-year-olds are allowed to marry, but only with parental consent. Children under the age of 16 can only marry with parental consent and a state judge's approval.
TRENTON, N.J. (AP) — Senators in New Jersey have passed a bill that would prevent teenagers from getting married until they turn 18.
