ATLANTA (AP) — Jessica Breland scored 19 points, Alex Bentley made a late go-ahead 3-pointer and the short-handed Atlanta Dream beat the Los Angeles Sparks 79-73 on Thursday night.
It was Atlanta's first victory without star Angel McCoughtry, who the team announced just before the game that she would miss the remainder of the season due to torn ligaments in her left knee. She was averaging 16.5 points, including a career-high 39 points at New York earlier this year.

Earlier this week, Hayes was named Eastern Conference player of the week for the third time this season. She is averaging 17.7 points per game.

Sun trade Bentley to Dream for Clarendon
NEW YORK (AP) — The Connecticut Sun have traded guard Alex Bentley to the Atlanta Dream for Layshia Clarendon and a second-round pick in 2019 on Monday.
Bentley is averaging 10 points for the Sun this season as the team's sixth player. The former All-Star was drafted by the Atlanta Dream in 2013 with the No. 13 pick before being traded to Connecticut as part of a three-team deal with Washington in 2014.

Hayes helps Dream hold off Fever 87-83
INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Tiffany Hayes made a key runner in the final minute and the Atlanta Dream held off the Indiana Fever for an 87-83 win on Sunday.
Hayes made it 85-79 with 26.2 seconds left and added a pair of free throws with 9.1 seconds left to secure the victory.
The Dream (8-8) had a 17-point halftime lead cut down to 72-69 on Candice Dupree's jumper with 5:06 left and the Fever hung close the rest of the way.
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Maya Moore scored 24 points and the Minnesota Lynx won their sixth straight, 85-74 over the Atlanta Dream on Friday night.

DeShields, Quigley help Sky beat Dream
CHICAGO (AP) — Diamond DeShields scored 23 points, Allie Quigley had 22 and the Chicago Sky beat the Atlanta Dream 93-80 on Wednesday.

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. (AP) — Tina Charles helped the New York Liberty get a much-needed win.
The Liberty's star scored 29 points to help the team overcome a strong effort from Angel McCoughtry and beat the short-handed Atlanta Dream 79-72 on Tuesday night.
"It was a much-needed win being that we had just lost a couple of games," Charles said. "The defensive effort is what carried us throughout the game. Katie (Smith) put an emphasis on taking a step up on the defensive end."
Fever get 1st win of season in 96-64 rout of Dream
INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Victoria Vivians scored a career-best 21 points to help the Indiana Fever win their first game of the season, beating the Atlanta Dream 96-64 on Saturday night.
The Fever (1-10) trailed 38-35 at halftime before outscoring the Dream 36-16 advantage in the third quarter. Indiana opened the fourth quarter with a 15-6 run to lead 86-60 and put the game away.
