Villa scores 14th goal, NYCFC claim No. 3 seed in East
NEW YORK (AP) — David Villa scored his 14th goal of the season and New York City FC beat the Philadelphia Union 3-1 on Sunday to clinch the No. 3 seed in the Eastern Conference.
NYCFC (16-10-8) won for just the second time in its last 10 matches, with five loses, averaging just 0.9 goals per game. Philadelphia (15-14-5) has lost five of its nine matches against NYCFC.
Either team could have secured the top-three seed with a victory.
Silva leads Impact in 4-1 win over Union
CHESTER, Pa. (AP) — Alejandro Silva scored twice off assists from Ignacio Piatti and the Montreal Impact beat the Philadelphia Union 4-1 on Saturday night.
Silva capped a breakaway in the 28th minute to tie it at 1. Silva ran behind Piatti's lead pass and slotted it past the onrushing goalkeeper from outside the penalty area.
Silva and Piatti connected with a give-and-go at the end of another breakaway in the 76th minute to cap the scoring.
FC Dallas remains unbeaten with 2-0 win over Union
FRISCO, Texas (AP) — Mauro Diaz and Maximiliano Urruti scored and FC Dallas remained one of the two unbeaten teams in MLS with a 2-0 victory over the Philadelphia Union on Saturday night.
Diaz opened the scoring with a penalty kick in the 64th minute. Dallas' Matt Hedges drew the penalty, trying to connect with Diaz's corner and getting pulled down from behind by defender Auston Trusty at the top of the 6-yard box.
CHICAGO (AP) — Philadelphia Union defender Auston Trusty has replaced Fulham's Marlon Fossey on the U.S. roster for the Under-20 World Cup.
The U.S. Soccer Federation said Wednesday that Fossey arrived at training camp with a groin injury.
The Americans open the tournament in South Korea against Ecuador on Monday, play Senegal three days later and Saudi Arabia on May 28.

CHICAGO (AP) — California goalkeeper Jonathan Klinsmann, the son of fired U.S. national coach Jurgen Klinsmann, is among 20 players on the American roster for CONCACAF's Under-20 Championship.
Eleven players are from Major League Soccer teams, with the rest from clubs in England, Spain and Mexico, and from college.
