NASSAU, Bahamas (AP) — FIU fumbled away the opening kickoff, gave up a touchdown 23 seconds into the game and found itself trailing by double digits by the end of the first quarter.

And Anthony Jones might know more about comebacks than anyone on the FIU roster.

Spanish prosecutors file tax evasion charges against Shakira
MADRID (AP) — Spanish prosecutors have charged pop music star Shakira with tax evasion, alleging she failed to pay more than 14.5 million euros ($16.3 million) between 2012 and 2014. The Colombian singer denied the charges.
The charges published Friday allege that Shakira listed the Bahamas as her official residence for tax purposes during those years but was in fact living in Spain with her partner, Spanish soccer player Gerard Pique.
Tax rates are much lower in the Bahamas than in Spain.

Column: Why it was special for Rahm to beat his hero, Tiger
NASSAU, Bahamas (AP) — Three victories in three countries against fields large and small, strong and weak, couldn't make Jon Rahm's year any better. Nothing could top one win that offered no money, no world ranking points or even a trophy to call his own.
He beat Tiger Woods in the Ryder Cup.
"I don't think there's anything I can do in the game anytime soon that's going to mean more than that," Rahm said.
Jon Rahm wins in Bahamas, ends year with 3 titles
NASSAU, Bahamas (AP) — Jon Rahm broke into tears when he beat Tiger Woods in the Ryder Cup, the most meaningful moment of his career.
Sunday wasn't bad either, not with Woods handing him the trophy after Rahm turned a potential shootout into a runaway victory on the back nine in the Bahamas to end his year by winning the Hero World Challenge.
That makes two full years as a pro for the 24-year-old Spaniard, each with three victories worldwide.
Bahamas breeze: Jon Rahm wins Hero World Challenge
NASSAU, Bahamas (AP) — Jon Rahm turned a potential shootout into a Bahamas breeze Sunday, closing with a 7-under 65 for a four-shot victory in the Hero World Challenge.
Starting the final round in a three-way tie with Tony Finau and Henrik Stenson, Rahm took the lead when Finau made bogey on the par-3 eighth hole, and the 24-year-old Spaniard never trailed the rest of the day at Albany Golf Club.

3-way tie for lead in Bahamas with Woods at the bottom
Tony Finau had never seen Albany Golf Club until the pro-am at the Hero World Challenge, and one aspect of the course caught his eye immediately.
"When I'm playing well, I feel like I can score on any golf course, especially a course that has five par 5s," Finau said.
He made birdie on four of them Saturday, leading him to a 5-under 67 that gave him a share of the lead with Henrik Stenson and Jon Rahm and set up a wide-open conclusion that could feature more than half the 18-man field.
Henrik Stenson, Jon Rahm tied for lead in the Bahamas
NASSAU, Bahamas (AP) — In his first trip to the Hero World Challenge, it didn't take Jon Rahm long to figure out how to score.
Being aggressive starts with keeping the ball in play. And with five par 5s and a pair of reachable par 4s at Albany Golf Club, plenty of birdies should be available. That was the case Friday, when Rahm made birdies on half of his holes for a 9-under 63 to share the lead with Henrik Stenson, who had a 66.
Woods spared penalty because of high-tech video evidence
NASSAU, Bahamas (AP) — Upon further review, Tiger Woods hit the ball more than once trying to escape from a palm bush.
And under an 18-month-old decision in the Rules of Golf, he avoided a penalty Friday in the Hero World Challenge because PGA Tour officials — and Woods — could only see the violation through a high-definition replay in slow motion.
The decision from May 2017 says that a player is not deemed to have broken a rule if it could not reasonably be seen with the naked eye.
Patrick Reed moving on from Ryder Cup, shares Bahamas lead
NASSAU, Bahamas (AP) — Patrick Reed and Tiger Woods are about as far apart as can be on the leaderboard after one round of the Hero World Challenge.
Only they know how close they are after the Ryder Cup fallout.
Reed showed no sign of fatigue in his travels from Dubai to Hong Kong to the Bahamas in successive weeks, making birdie on three of his last five holes Thursday for a 7-under 65 and a share of the lead with late-entry Patrick Cantlay.
Stenson splits with caddie, Thomas using a friend in Bahamas
NASSAU, Bahamas (AP) — Justin Thomas and Henrik Stenson have different caddies at the Hero World Challenge. Only one of them is temporary.
Stenson said while caddie Gareth Lord is recovery from shoulder surgery, the two are taking a break. The Swede has hired Scott Vail for the Bahamas, and he plans to start the new year with him and see how it goes. Vail previously worked for Brandt Snedeker.
A year later, no surprises on what to expect from Tiger
NASSAU, Bahamas (AP) — Justin Thomas is paired with Tiger Woods in the Hero World Challenge for the second straight year, and just like last time, he has an idea what to expect from him.
Top 50 in the world for Masters invitations getting tight
NASSAU, Bahamas (AP) — A year ago, Brandt Snedeker made a last-ditch effort to secure a spot in the Masters by flying halfway around the world to play in the Indonesia Masters with hopes of getting into the top 50 by the end of the year.
He withdrew after a 72, ended the year at No. 59 and wound up missing the Masters for the first time since 2010.
Column: Tiger’s Tour Championship win changes conversation
NASSAU, Bahamas (AP) — The first stop is Sam Snead and his 82 career PGA Tour victories.
The ultimate stop is Jack Nicklaus and his 18 majors, the gold standard in golf.
Both milestones are now in play for Tiger Woods, which is not to suggest they are within reach. That they are at least a topic of conversation is a victory in itself considering it took four back surgeries — the last one to fuse his lower spine — for Woods to even compete again.

Still, he's quick to note his team is blending in new pieces, too — which is why he wants to see how this group handles playing in this week's Battle 4 Atlantis in the Bahamas.
