Police say woman who hit squad car was driving drunk
BEAVER DAM, Wis. (AP) — Authorities say a 46-year-old woman was driving drunk when she collided with a Dodge County Sheriff's Office squad car.
WITI-TV reports that a Dodge County deputy was stopped to help a disabled semitrailer early Saturday morning when the woman rear-ended the squad car while the deputy was inside of the vehicle.
Winter storm coming to an end in Wisconsin
MILWAUKEE (AP) — A winter storm warning is expiring in Wisconsin, but not before dozens of school districts called off classes and the mounting snow caused travel delays.

Officer-involved shooting wounds man in Beaver Dam
BEAVER DAM, Wis. (AP) — The Dodge County Sheriff's Office is investigating an officer-involved shooting that wounded a man in Beaver Dam.
Beaver Dam police were called to a domestic incident Friday night. Sheriff Dale Schmidt says the officers "reacted to a situation involving a firearm," and that preliminary information shows that law enforcement fired shots.

Suspicious activity — A woman reported a man going door to door in the 600 block of North University Avenue at 6:49 p.m. Sunday saying that he was looking for his vehicle. Police made contact with him and passed information along about his vehicle.
Noise complaint — A man reported large trucks with loud exhaust systems driving around the 100 block of East Maple Avenue at 7:13 p.m. Sunday. An officer checked the area.

BEAVER DAM -- The Swingin' Beavers Square Dance Club has been staying busy with activities.
On Tuesday, April 10, the club welcomed national square dance caller Ed Foote to Trinity Church United Methodist in Beaver Dam to call at a regularly scheduled club dance. Approximately 70 area dancers joined with the Swingin' Beavers in dancing to Foote's calling.
Church Health Services in Beaver Dam has been able to shift its focus to urgent care as its dental and mental health services grow.
Church Health is a faith-based organization located at 115 N. Center St. Its next walk-in medical clinic will be on Thursday from 8-10 a.m.
The nonprofit has been offering walk-in clinics about twice a month for low-income patients without insurance as part of a pilot program that is geared toward urgent care issues, like a persistent cough, ear pain or a sore throat.
Jean M. Veling, 82, Waukesha, passed away Sunday, April 22, 2018, at LindenGrove in Waukesha.
Jean was born the daughter of Lawrence and Amanda (Straeseski) Veling on June 6, 1935, in Beaver Dam. After graduating high school in 1953 in Beaver Dam, she spent 36 years working for the Bell Telephone Company in Beaver Dam, Fond du Lac, Neenah-Menasha, Appleton, Superior, Eau Claire and the Milwaukee area. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America and the UW Alumni Association.

JUNEAU – A 34-year-old Beaver Dam man will make his initial appearance in Dodge County Circuit Court Monday after being charged with robbing Marco’s Pizza, 125 W. Maple Ave., last month.
