PAPILLION, Neb. (AP) — Sarpy County commissioners have taken a $1 million step toward building a mental health crisis center.
The Board of Commissioners has approved spending $1.05 million on a nearly 7-acre (2.8-hectare) parcel on the south end of Bellevue, near Offutt Air Force Base.
"This is the first step, but an important step, toward improving mental health care in Sarpy County," said Board of Commissioners chairman Don Kelly at the board meeting Tuesday.

Bellevue teacher arrested at school on child porn suspicion
BELLEVUE, Neb. (AP) — A suburban Omaha middle school teacher has been arrested after police say hundreds of images of suspected child pornography were found on a computer he had taken to a shop for repairs.
Police say 46-year-old Logan-Fontenelle Middle School science teacher Roger Jaeger was taken into custody Friday morning on suspicion of possessing child pornography. Police say the shop where Jaeger's computer was being repaired called police to investigate.
Nebraska senators advance employment leave bill for workers

Man accused in woman’s shooting death charged with murder
PAPILLION, Neb. (AP) — A man accused of fatally shooting his longtime girlfriend in an Omaha suburb last year now faces a charge of second-degree murder in the case.
Omaha television station WOWT reports that the new charge against 35-year-old David Clark was filed Thursday. Clark is also charged with two felony weapons counts. He faces up to life in prison if convicted.
