Gonzalo Higuain scored in the first half and Blaise Matuidi doubled the advantage toward the end, shortly after Atalanta was reduced to 10 men.
The match was rescheduled from last month when it was postponed due to a snowstorm.
UNESCO, French authorities condemn racist abuse of Matuidi
PARIS (AP) — The head of UNESCO and the French sports minister are backing Juventus midfielder Blaise Matuidi, who said he was racially abused last weekend.
In a joint statement issued on Monday, Audrey Azoulay and Laura Flessel expressed "the strongest condemnation of the racial slurs" aimed at the Juventus and France midfielder.
Azoulay and Flessel met on Monday for a working session. UNESCO and Juventus have been working together since 2014 with initiatives aimed at fighting racism.
Matuidi racially abused for 2nd successive weekend in Italy
Juventus midfielder Blaise Matuidi says he was the victim of racial abuse for the second successive Saturday in Italian soccer.
The incident at Cagliari happened two days after Hellas Verona was punished for its fans hurling racist chants at Matuidi.
Writing on Facebook after Saturday's 1-0 win at Cagliari in Serie A, Matuidi said: "I experienced racism during the match. Weak people try to intimidate with hate. I am not a hater and can only be sorry for those who set bad examples."

Blaise Matuidi completes move from PSG to Juventus
PARIS (AP) — France midfielder Blaise Matuidi completed his move from Paris Saint-Germain to Juventus on Friday.
Matuidi arrived in Turin for a medical on Wednesday but the move finally went through Friday, PSG said in a statement.
No financial details were given, but Juventus will reportedly pay PSG 20 million euros ($23 million) plus bonuses for the player, who had a year left on his contract. PSG did not say how long Matuidi's contract is with the Italian champion.
