BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (AP) — Most people in Indiana's parole program are finding jobs after their release from prison despite having felony convictions, the program's director says.
About 80 percent of Indiana residents on parole have found employment, and most of those who fail on parole haven't found a job or have their parole revoked because they use drugs and refuse treatment, said Indiana Parole Division Director Doug Huyvaert.

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (AP) — A southern Indiana man faces rape and burglary charges after his DNA matched a sample taken following a 2006 sexual assault.
Police say the 47-year-old Heltonville man was arrested Friday. He is being held in the Monroe County Jail.
A woman reported being raped inside her apartment in 2006 at knifepoint. The man ran off when her boyfriend arrived.

The Monroe County Sheriff's Department says 48-year-old Robert P. Carter was arrested about 6 a.m. Thursday by officers responding to an alarm at Mellencamp's home outside Bloomington. No one was home at the time.

Schurz Communications selling newspapers to GateHouse Media
MISHAWAKA, Ind. (AP) — Schurz Communications says it's selling its publishing division, including 20 newspapers in five states, to GateHouse Media LLC.
Indiana-based Schurz, which owns the South Bend Tribune and The Herald-Times in Bloomington announced the deal Monday. Terms were not disclosed. The family-owned company says New York-based GateHouse will assume ownership during the first quarter of the year. GateHouse currently owns 145 daily newspapers
