JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (AP) — Isaiah Tisdale scored a career-best 29 points and made six free throws in the last 35 seconds as East Tennessee State fended off The Citadel 91-83 Thursday night.
Tisdale scored 20 of his 29 points after halftime and, despite being a 61 percent free-throw shooter, calmly sank six in a row after The Citadel had cut the ETSU lead to 83-80 on a couple of free throws by Hayden Brown.
Magee scores 11 of 32 points in OT, Wofford beats ETSU 78-76
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (AP) — Fletcher Magee scored 11 of his 32 points in overtime on Thursday night and Wofford stayed undefeated in Southern Conference play with a 78-76 win over East Tennessee State.
Magee made 7 of 15 from 3-point range, including the go-ahead 3 that made it 75-73 for the Terriers (20-4, 12-0) with 31 seconds left in the game. Fouled on the shot, Magee missed the extra free throw but made two free throws with eight seconds left to extend the lead to four.
ETSU pulls away for 77-64 win over Chattanooga

EL PASO, Texas (AP) — Jeromy Rodriguez led a balanced attacked with a 12-point, 14-rebound double-double and East Tennessee State held Wyoming to one field goal in the first half to coast to a 76-53 win on Friday night in the Sun Bowl Invitational.
Wofford beats East Tennessee State 79-62 in SoCon opener
SPARTANBURG, S.C. (AP) — Fletcher Magee scored a season-high 24 points to lead Wofford to a 79-62 victory over East Tennessee State on Saturday night in a Southern Conference opener for both teams.
Wofford (6-2, 1-0) has won four straight since losing at Oklahoma 75-64 on Nov. 18.
Magee was 7 of 16 from the floor and made five 3-pointers. Cameron Jackson added 12 points and Matt Pegram had 10 for the Terriers.
East Tennessee State blows past Hiwassee 109-44
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (AP) — Mladen Armus and Jeromy Rodriguez had a double-double apiece to pace East Tennessee State to its first win of the season, a 109-44 thumping of Hiwassee College on Thursday night.

UNCG, Wofford’s Magee are top SoCon preseason selections
SPARTANBURG, S.C. (AP) — Defending champion UNC Greensboro is the favorite again win the men's basketball title and Wofford guard Fletcher Magee has been selected as the preseason player of the year.
The Spartans were the top pick in separate voting by the league coaches and media. The results were announced Thursday.
The top five teams in the preseason order of finish were the same in both polls. Following UNCG, it was Wofford, East Tennessee State, Furman and Mercer.
ASHEVILLE, N.C. (AP) — Jalan McCloud had 22 points, on 10-of-16 shooting, and five assists and Desonta Bradford scored 14 with six rebounds and four assists to help East Tennessee State beat Chattanooga 77-59 in the Southern Conference Tournament on Saturday night.
Bo Hodges and Peter Jurkin added 12 points apiece for ETSU. The second-seeded Buccaneers (24-8) will play No. 6 seed Western Carolina or third-seeded Furman in the semifinals on Sunday.
East Tennessee’s Bradford, Wofford’s Magee win SoCon awards
SPARTANBURG, S.C. (AP) — East Tennessee guard Desonta Bradford and Wofford guard Fletcher Magee have won Southern Conference player of the year awards.
Bradford was the choice of league coaches while Magee earned the honor from the SoCon media. The conference announced its postseason awards Wednesday.
The two voting groups also split on the league's top freshman with coaches awarding East Tennessee guard Bo Hodges and the media selecting VMI guard Bubba Parham.

CULLOWHEE, N.C. (AP) — Devontavius Payne scored 22 points and East Tennessee State bounced back after having its 16-game winning streak snapped with a 72-61 win over Western Carolina on Saturday.
Bo Hodges added 17 points and Desonta Bradford had 10 for the Buccaneers (23-5, 14-1 Southern Conference), who lost at UNC Greensboro on Monday to bring an end to the nation's longest winning streak, which was one shy of the school record.

ETSU (19-4, 10-0 Southern) trails Purdue and St. Mary's with 16 consecutive wins apiece. The Bucs have won 17 of their last 18 games — with a loss at then No. 10 Xavier.

SPARTANBURG, S.C. (AP) — Desonta Bradford scored 17 points and Devontavius Payne scored 14 and East Tennessee State beat Wofford 75-62 on Saturday night for its 12th win in a row.
ETSU (18-4, 9-0 Southern Conference) entered the game with the third longest winning streak in the country. The last ETSU squad to post a longer winning streak was the 2003-04 Bucs team that won 16 in a row and went 15-1 in conference play.
East Tennessee St. rolls to 5th straight Southern Conf. win

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) — Desonta Bradford scored 18 points and East Tennessee State rolled to a 90-72 victory over Samford on Thursday night for its fifth straight win.

MACON, Ga. (AP) — Jalan McCloud scored 22 points with four 3-pointers and East Tennessee State ran away from Mercer 74-55 on Sunday to open defense of its Southern Conference championship.
ETSU (10-4) shot 57 percent from the floor (29-for-51) and made 10 of 18 from 3-point range (57 percent). Desonta Bradford and Bo Hodges each scored 12 for the Buccaneers.

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (AP) — Bo Hodges scored 18 points with 8-for-9 shooting to lead East Tennessee State to a 94-48 win over Hiawassee College on Sunday.
Jason Williams added 12 points, including a pair of 3-pointers, and Mladen Armus had 10 points to go with seven rebounds for ETSU (6-3), which got 22 assists on its 35 baskets to win its fourth straight game.

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (AP) — Devontavius Payne scored 16 points, Bo Hodges had 14 and East Tennessee State used a big first half to defeat Northern Kentucky 84-71 on Wednesday night.
Jalan McCloud added 12 points with six assists and Peter Jurkin had 10 points for the Buccaneers (5-3), who lost their season opener to the Norse (6-3) in a rare home-and-home nonconference series.
Bradford’s effort lifts ETSU past Fordham 82-77
NEW YORK (AP) — Desonta Bradford scored 21 points, grabbed nine rebounds and distributed four assists and East Tennessee State beat Fordham 82-77 on Wednesday night.
Bradford made all four of his free throws and Kanayo Obi-Rapu made a pair — all in the last five seconds — to preserve the win. ETSU (4-3) led 33-28 at halftime and never trailed in the second half. Andre Edwards' 3 pointer with three minutes before halftime put the Bucs up for the rest of the contest.
