NEW YORK (AP) — Alex Tuch buried a sharp-angled shot just over two minutes into overtime, giving the Vegas Golden Knights a 4-3 victory over the New York Rangers on Sunday.
Marc-Andre Fleury stopped 27 shots in his 423rd career victory, which moved him into a tie with Tony Esposito for ninth on the NHL's wins list.

Quinn gets first win, Rangers beat Sharks in overtime 3-2
NEW YORK (AP) — Brady Skjei used overtime to redeem an earlier mistake and give Rangers coach David Quinn his first NHL victory.
Skjei buried a wrist shot 37 seconds into overtime to lift New York over the San Jose Sharks 3-2 on Thursday night.
"With three-on-three and his skating he's going to be a threat," Quinn said of Skjei. "It was a heck of a goal, that's for sure."
Rangers agree to 2-year deal with forward Ryan Spooner
NEW YORK (AP) — The New York Rangers have agreed to a two-year, $8 million contract with restricted free agent Ryan Spooner.
Spooner, acquired from Boston in the Rick Nash deal at the trade deadline last season, was scheduled for an arbitration hearing this Saturday.

Monday's deal means New York avoided arbitration with the three of the four players who filed. Forward Jimmy Vesey signed a $4.55 million, two-year contract last Tuesday, and defenseman Brady Skjei agreed to a $31.5 million, six-year deal Saturday.
Rangers, Skjei agree on, $31.5M, 6-year deal
NEW YORK (AP) — The Rangers avoided arbitration with Brady Skjei, agreeing with the defenseman on a $31.5 million, six-year contract.
New York general manager Jeff Gorton announced the deal with the 24-year-old restricted free agent Saturday, three days before Sjkei's arbitration hearing was scheduled. The former University of Minnesota player was coming off his entry-level contract and will count $5.25 million against the salary cap through the 2023-24 season.
Lightning stops 3-game slide with 7-3 win over Rangers
NEW YORK (AP) — Brayden Point and Cedric Paquette each scored two goals, and the Tampa Bay Lightning stopped a three-game slide with a 7-3 victory over the New York Rangers on Friday night.

NEW YORK (AP) — Henrik Lundqvist and Brady Skjei sat inside the Rangers' dressing room after shellacking the Flyers, and surprisingly enough, their conversation was all about defense.
Even after Rick Nash scored twice in New York's 5-1 win over Philadelphia, the Rangers were most pleased by what happened in their own end.
"We both said that was our best collective defensive game in a long time, and we end up scoring five goals," Skjei said.
Howard, Nielsen lift Red Wings over Rangers 3-2
DETROIT (AP) — Jimmy Howard grew up in Syracuse, New York, cheering on big Rangers' victories. He's since learned to take a little pleasure in their losses, too.

J.T. Miller and Brady Skjei scored 3:50 apart late in the second period, Raanta stopped 19 shots and the Rangers beat the New Jersey Devils 5-0 on Sunday night.
Girardi scores early in 3rd to lift Rangers over Coyotes
NEW YORK (AP) — Dan Girardi returned to the lineup and made himself the difference with one big third-period shot.
Girardi scored 1:55 into the final period, lifting the New York Rangers over the Arizona Coyotes 3-2 on Sunday night.
The goal was the first of the season for Girardi. He put the Rangers up for good with a slap shot from the right point.
"I just buried my head and tried to shoot as hard as I can at the net," Girardi said. "Good things happen when you put pucks on net."
