Danault records hat trick as Canadiens defeat Vegas 4-3
LAS VEGAS (AP) — Phillip Danault completed a hat trick late in the third period, Paul Byron scored in overtime and the Montreal Canadiens beat the Vegas Golden Knights 4-3 on Saturday.
Danault entered the game with two goals this season. His third score of the game came with 1:25 left in the third period, setting up Byron's backhand goal 1:59 into OT.
Carey Price made 23 saves, and the Canadiens swept the season series against Vegas.

NEW YORK (AP) — After a rough stretch, Rangers goalie Henrik Lundqvist seems to have regained his form.
Lundqvist stopped 36 shots to lead New York to a 3-2 victory over the Los Angeles Kings on Monday night for their third straight win.
Canadiens rally with 3 goals in 62 seconds to beat Rangers
MONTREAL (AP) — It took a 62-second outburst in the third period for the Montreal Canadiens to turn a sour mood in the Bell Centre into a celebration.
Alexei Emelin, Max Pacioretty and Paul Byron scored in rapid succession and the Canadiens rebounded after a disputed goal against and the ejection of wing Andrew Shaw for a 5-4 victory over the New York Rangers on Saturday night.
"It was fun. It felt like a playoff game," Pacioretty said. "It felt like there were a lot of Rangers fans here."
Puempel gets power-play hat trick, Rangers hold off Coyotes
GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) — Matt Puempel hasn't really thought of himself as a goal scorer. After all, he'd only netted two goals in 24 games this season, and that tied a career high.
Thursday night could start to change that. Puempel got two of his three power-play goals late in the third period to help the New York Rangers avert a collapse and beat the Arizona Coyotes 6-3.
Hayes, Miller score 2 goals each, Rangers beat Canucks 7-2
VANCOUVER, British Columbia (AP) — Even without two of their top forwards, the high-scoring New York Rangers rolled past the Vancouver Canucks.
Kevin Hayes and J.T. Miller scored two goals each, Henrik Lundqvist made 36 saves, and the Rangers beat the Canucks 7-2 on Tuesday night.
Mats Zuccarello had a goal and two assists, Nick Holden had a goal and an assist and Brandon Pirri also scored for New York, which was without Chris Kreider and Pavel Buchnevich.
Miller, Fast, Buchnevich lead Rangers past Jets 5-2
NEW YORK (AP) — Although the New York Rangers didn't play an especially dominant style, they did enough to keep up their winning play.
J.T. Miller, Jesper Fast and Pavel Buchnevich scored 4:04 apart late in the second period to lead the high-scoring Rangers to their fifth straight victory, 5-2 over the Winnipeg Jets on Sunday night.
Brandon Pirri scores twice, Rangers rally to beat Bruins 5-2
NEW YORK (AP) — Brandon Pirri is fitting in perfectly in his first season with the New York Rangers.
"I'm glad we're the ones who got him," Derek Stepan said after Pirri scored twice to help the Rangers beat the Boston Bruins 5-2 on Wednesday night. "That's for sure."
Pirri has four goals and two assists in seven games. The left wing signed with the Rangers as a free agent after splitting last season with Florida and Anaheim.

Brandon Pirri scores twice, Rangers beat Devils 3-1
NEW YORK (AP) — Brandon Pirri scored two goals in the New York Rangers' 3-1 exhibition victory over the New Jersey Devils on Thursday night.
John Gilmour added a power-play goal for New York. Antti Raanta and Mackenzie Skapski split time in goal, with Raanta starting and making 15 saves, and Skapski stopping all 13 shots he faced.
Miles Wood scored for New Jersey, and Scott Wedgewood made 31 saves.
Rangers agree to terms with Pirri on $1.1M, 1-year deal
NEW YORK (AP) — The New York Rangers have agreed to terms with forward Brandon Pirri on a $1.1 million, one-year deal.
The 25-year-old Pirri spent last season with the Florida Panthers and Anaheim Ducks, recording 14 goals and 15 assists in 61 games. His 29 points were a career high.
