OXFORD, Miss. (AP) — Mississippi keeps finding big-time contributors on its roster as it continues to make an unexpected push up the Southeastern Conference standings.
Bruce Stevens came off the bench to score 17 points, tying a season-high, to lead Ole Miss over Missouri 75-65 on Saturday for the team's fourth straight win. The Rebels' (18-7, 8-4) winning streak comes after a four-game losing skid that threated to derail the season.
Tyree, Ole Miss clamp down on Auburn, 60-55
AUBURN, Ala. (AP) — Kermit Davis and Mississippi could teach a class on how to defend Auburn.
Breein Tyree scored 20 points and made two free throws with 12 seconds left to seal Mississippi's 60-55 win over the Tigers on Wednesday night.
The Rebels (17-7, 7-4 Southeastern Conference) completed a season sweep of the onetime No. 7-ranked Tigers (16-8, 5-6), who produced their two lowest scoring totals in the meetings.
Tyree stays hot with 31 points, Ole Miss tops Georgia 80-64
ATHENS, Ga. (AP) — Breein Tyree's hot-scoring streak has fueled Mississippi's recovery from a four-game losing streak.
Georgia is in dire need of a similar boost after an ugly loss led first-year coach Tom Crean to say he was embarrassed and needed to apologize to former coaches and players who were watching.
Tyree scored 31 points, his fifth straight game with at least 20, and Mississippi beat Georgia 80-64 on Saturday, giving the struggling Bulldogs their fourth straight loss.

OXFORD, Miss. (AP) — There was no celebration for Mississippi, but there was a sigh of relief.
Ole Miss snapped a four-game losing streak, wiping out a nine-point deficit in the second half Wednesday night, to defeat Texas A&M 75-71.
"It wasn't pretty, but we found a way," Mississippi coach Kermit Davis said. "We showed some toughness and contested shots in the last 10 minutes. We were desperate. We really needed this win."

OXFORD, Miss. (AP) — D.C. Davis played a grand total of 16 minutes last season, yet there he was on Saturday, leading a fast break opportunity during a crucial portion of the second half in a key conference game.
The former walk-on spied Terence Davis streaking toward the rim and let a high pass fly. It was perfectly placed and Davis grabbed it in midair, slammed it home and the 18th-ranked Rebels were well on their way to an 84-67 victory over Arkansas at The Pavilion.
Hinson leads Ole Miss over No. 14 Mississippi St 81-77

Breein Tyree scored a career-high 31 points, and Mississippi opened SEC play by beating Vanderbilt 81-71 Saturday night for the Rebels' eighth straight victory. The Rebels didn't win away from Oxford in league play until Feb. 20 at Missouri.
"It's definitely a big confidence boost," Tyree said.
Davis propels Ole Miss past Florida Gulf Coast 87-57
OXFORD, Miss. (AP) — Mississippi coach Kermit Davis spoke quietly in the postgame press conference. His Rebels spoke loud and clear on the court Saturday in an 87-57 win over Florida Gulf Coast.
"We finished undefeated in December and that's hard to do. I don't care who you are," Davis said. "We've played six of eleven games away from home and we're 10-2 and undefeated in December. We've still got progress to make, but I like where we are right now."
Ole Miss beats Middle Tennessee 74-56 in Davis’ return
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Part of Kermit Davis' heart is still at Middle Tennessee State.
"There will only be one night that I ever pull against the Blue Raiders and it was tonight," said Davis, in his first year as Mississippi's coach after spending the previous 16 at Middle Tennessee.
Breein Tyree made four 3-pointers and scored 24 points to lead Mississippi to a 74-56 win over Middle Tennessee on Friday night in Davis' first game against his former team.
Ole Miss uses big run to get past Chattanooga 90-70
OXFORD, Miss. (AP) — Breein Tyree and Terence Davis scored 20 points apiece and keyed a decisive 28-0 second half run Sunday as Mississippi defeated Chattanooga 90-70.
Bruce Stevens added 15 points for Ole Miss (8-2), which shot 19 of 30 (63 percent) from the field in the second half, finishing 32 of 52 (61 percent). The Rebels finished 9 of 16 (52 percent) from the 3-point line, including three by Tyree.
Hot shooting propels Ole Miss past Illinois State 81-74
NORMAL, Ill. (AP) — It took Mississippi until the end of February to win a true road game last season. This season, it took less than a month.
The Rebels guards took turns dominating the game Saturday night, and Ole Miss defeated Missouri Valley Conference contender Illinois State 81-74.
"That's a good road win for us," first-year Ole Miss coach Kermit Davis said. "For a team trying to learn to win on the road . we played some really quality basketball."

Terence Davis scored 20 points, with a game-high 9 assists, for the Rebels (4-2). Blake Hinson and KJ Buffen had 15 points apiece while Devontae Shuler added 13. Buffen had a game-high seven rebounds.

OXFORD, Miss. (AP) — Terence Davis scored 14 points, added eight rebounds and blocked four shots as Mississippi defeated Nicholls 75-55 on Tuesday night.

OXFORD, Miss. (AP) — There were no fireworks, no drama and that was exactly what Kermit Davis wanted in his Mississippi head coaching debut Saturday as the Rebels defeated Western Michigan 90-64.
"I'm really pleased. Really pleased. We played with energy, shared the ball and got on them defensively," Davis said. "We got off to a good start and took a well-coached team out of what they wanted to do."

COLUMBIA, Mo. (AP) — After former Ole Miss coach Andy Kennedy stepped down on Sunday, interim coach Tony Madlock told his team to start fresh.
The Rebels did, battling through a double-digit Missouri comeback and an overtime session to beat the Tigers 90-87 and pick up their first road victory in conference play.

Davis leads Texas A&M past Mississippi 71-69
COLLEGE STATION, Texas (AP) — Texas A&M coach Billy Kennedy offered up a concise invocation when Mississippi's Breein Tyree tossed up a 3-point attempt from the left of the top of the key late Tuesday night in Reed Arena.
"I was praying that it would bounce out," Kennedy said. "And God blessed us with the right bounce."
The result was a 71-69 Aggies' win over the Rebels, A&M's first Southeastern Conference victory in six tries this season.

Yante Maten scored 15 points and Derek Ogbeide 14 for Georgia (10-3, 1-1).

Mississippi beats Texas A&M-CC 85-63
OXFORD, Miss. (AP) — Dominik Olejniczak and Justas Furmanavicius scored 15 points apiece as Mississippi defeated Texas A&M-Corpus Christi 85-63 on Tuesday night.
"Tonight was a step in the right direction and I was pleased with Dominik and Justas, especially," Mississippi coach Andy Kennedy said. "We've still got things to clean up, but we've got opportunities. This team still has a life."
Mississippi rallies in 2nd half to beat Louisiana 94-76
OXFORD, Miss. (AP) — Terence Davis scored 21 points and sparked a decisive second-half surge as Mississippi rallied Friday night to defeat Louisiana 94-76.
Ole Miss turned a 13-0 run, including two highlight-type plays by Davis, to build an insurmountable 70-57 lead with 10:22 remaining. Louisiana never got closer than 11 points in the final two minutes.
Ole Miss hopes added depth leads to NCAA Tournament bid
Mississippi hopes a little more depth, better ballhandling and the addition of a 7-footer will enable the Rebels to earn a trip back to the NCAA Tournament.
Ole Miss has been competitive under coach Andy Kennedy during his previous 11 seasons leading the program. But the Rebels have made the NCAA Tournament just twice — in 2013 and 2015 — and have had to settle for a spot in the National Invitation Tournament.

OXFORD, Miss. (AP) — Mississippi has added graduate transfer guard Markel Crawford, who should bolster the Rebels' backcourt next season.
The 6-foot-5 Crawford comes to Ole Miss after three seasons at Memphis. He averaged 12.8 points per game last season and led the team with 42 3-pointers. He will be eligible to play immediately.
