High expectations for Utah DBs despite losses to NFL
SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Utah is quietly growing into a defensive back factory of sorts with the Utes continuing to send cornerbacks and safeties to the NFL with regularity, including four off the 2016 roster.
The program has work to do to replace those four starters from last season, but coach Kyle Whittingham is confident in the next wave of DBs.
Mularkey taking time to name Titans new starting cornerback

Titans coach Mike Mularkey is taking his time to make that decision.
Titans LT Lewan will play vs Bears despite sprained knee
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Tennessee Titans left tackle Taylor Lewan practiced fully on Friday and will start against the Chicago Bears on Sunday despite having a sprained left knee.
Lewan hurt his knee on the Titans' final offensive series in a loss to the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday. He wore a protective brace on the knee in Friday's practice and says he expects to be 100 percent by Sunday.
Titans without half of starting secondary vs. Jaguars
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — The Tennessee Titans are without three starters against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Thursday night, including half of their secondary.
The Titans already had declared safety Rashad Johnson (neck) and cornerback Perrish Cox (concussion) out, and Daimion Stafford will start at safety with Brice McCain at cornerback. Brian Schwenke will start at left guard with Quinton Spain (bruised right knee) out.
Mularkey: Titans guard Quinton Spain to miss up to 4 weeks
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Tennessee coach Mike Mularkey says starting left guard Quinton Spain has a bruised bone in his right knee and will miss up to four weeks.
Mularkey said Monday the injury is serious but not as significant as the Titans had feared.
Spain was carted off the field in the second quarter of a 34-26 loss to Indianapolis.
Cornerback Perrish Cox is in the concussion protocol and likely will not be cleared to play Thursday night when the Titans (3-4) host the Jaguars (2-4).
