DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (AP) — The LPGA Tour and BMW Group Korea have reached an agreement for a South Korean tournament that will start next year.
LPGA Commissioner Mike Whan and BMW Group Korea Chairman Hyo Joon Kim announced Wednesday that the first event will be played in October 2019 at LPGA International Busan, the tour's first golf facility outside the United States.
BMW also sponsors the PGA Tour's BMW Championship and two European Tour events.

Japan recalls envoy to S. Korea over ‘comfort woman’ statue
TOKYO (AP) — Japan announced Friday that it would recall its ambassador to South Korea and suspend economic talks in response to the placing of a "comfort woman" statue representing wartime sex slaves in front of its consulate in the Korean port city of Busan.
Both Ambassador Yasumasa Nagamine in Seoul and the consul-general in Busan will be temporarily recalled, Japanese Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga told reporters after a Cabinet meeting.

Dubai’s DP World increases stake at South Korea’s Busan port
DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (AP) — Dubai-based port operator DP World says it has increased its stake in a company operating out of South Korea's Busan port.
DP World said Thursday it purchased an additional 23.94-percent stake in Pusan Newport Co. Ltd. from Samsung Corp. & Subsidiaries. It said that put DP World's overall stake in the company to 66.03 percent.
