“We are pleased to partner with Golden Valley Memorial Healthcare to provide Clinton and surrounding communities unprecedented regional access to board-certified cancer specialists like Dr. Singh and other experts,” said Ashley McClellan, chief executive officer at Research Medical Center, a hospital of HCA Midwest Health. “These world-class resources will not only help improve outcomes for patients with cancer, but also offer them the ability to be near family and friends during an illness, which we know is vital before, during and after diagnosis, treatment and recovery. This important partnership overcomes geographic barriers, giving patients access to high-quality, compassionate care in their own backyard.”
GVMH is pleased to have Jaswinder Singh, MD, a board certified, fellowship-trained hematologist and medical oncologist affiliated with Sarah Cannon Cancer Institute at HCA Midwest Health, to care for patients at its cancer center. He received his medical degree from the Medical College, Chandigarh in India, completed his residency at Mount Sinai VA Medical Center in New York and his fellowship at the University of Kansas Medical Center.
“This partnership means that we will bring many options for cancer care directly to the community,” said Dr. Singh. “The comprehensive cancer services offered at Golden Valley Memorial Healthcare’s new cancer center will benefit patients, their families and loved ones and the community’s overall well-being.”
On Sunday, December 8, GVMH will hold an open house and ribbon cutting ceremony at the cancer center to celebrate the partnership and new facility. Tours will be available from 2-4 p.m. and light refreshments will be served.
“We are delighted to partner with Sarah Cannon Cancer Institute at HCA Midwest Health,” said Craig Thompson, chief executive officer at GVMH. “The new center provides expanded clinic hours, dedicated social services, private exam rooms, an increased number of infusion bays and chemotherapy. It also has a larger, more comfortable waiting area specifically for cancer patients and their families and allows our patients to receive exceptional cancer care close to home.
