Overall, China’s share of US clothing imports from all sources declined in value terms, and remained stable in terms of volume. There were falls in the shares of US clothing imports which came from El Salvador, Indonesia, Mexico and Sri Lanka as US clothing imports from these four countries either declined or rose only modestly.

By contrast, the shares of US clothing imports which came from Bangladesh, Cambodia and Vietnam rose, reflecting strong growth in imports from all three countries. Meanwhile, the share of US clothing imports which came from India remained more or less stable, and Honduras gained share in value terms but suffered a decline in share in terms of volume.
