“Kris is uniquely qualified to lead uShip forward,” said Jim Martell, executive chairman of uShip’s board of directors. “He’s held key leadership roles at both public and private companies, and over the last year and a half as uShip’s CTO, he’s continued to prove his leadership within the executive leadership team.

“There’s perhaps no one more suited and deserving of uShip’s COO role than Heather Hoover-Salomon,” said Martell. “Her intern-to-COO journey is a testament to her energy, leadership, and knowledge across virtually every facet of this company. As Kris and Heather lead uShip forward, they benefit from an organization that has matured greatly under Mike Williams.”

Kris Lamb

Lamb joined uShip in December 2017 as CTO and quickly organized uShip’s engineering, product, and development teams into a high-performing organization today. He’s been instrumental in leading the cloud migration and making it possible to develop and take new products to market with dramatically improved speed and quality.

Before uShip, Lamb was vice president and general manager of cloud security at Austin-based Forcepoint, and has held leadership roles in engineering, product management, enterprise software, security, cloud/hosting, SMB, and mobility at both public and private companies.

“This is really a dream come true for me when you consider how technology is transforming logistics today,” said Lamb, a 20-year enterprise technology executive. “So it’s truly exciting to lead a 15-year-old technology platform that’s innovating and digitizing how oversized items get shipped. I’ve definitely got big shoes to fill — Mike has brought an unprecedented level of structure, rigor, and maturity to uShip, all while focusing on our expansion into B2B, high-volume shipping markets.”

Mike Williams

Williams, who joined uShip in February 2017 prior to the company’s $25 million Series D funding, is leaving to pursue a new leadership opportunity. News of that appointment is forthcoming.

During Williams’ tenure at uShip, uShip launched In-Home Delivery, a turnkey shipping solution for online furniture sellers who need instant, predictive pricing, automated shipping, and access to curated carriers within uShip’s network.

Heather Hoover-Salomon

Hoover-Salomon, uShip’s longest-tenured employee, has served as executive vice president of operations since 2017. As COO, she continues to oversee human resources, recruiting, facilities, customer operations, member support, legal, trust and safety, and uShip’s on-site kitchen operation, which serves lunch to over 200 employees daily. A two-time Austin Business Journal Profiles in Power finalist, Hoover-Salomon began her uShip career in 2005 as a PR and customer service intern.

Over the course of 2019, uShip has added executive leadership bench strength, including Vice President of Marketing & Sales Janet Vito, Director of Strategic Programs Lyndy Watkins, Senior Director of SEO Alan Garcia, Director of Strategic Partnerships Jon Weisblatt, and Director of Employee Experience Marina Carter.

Since 2004, uShip has accumulated over 6.1 million consumer and business shippers who have listed 9.1 million large and bulky shipments for transport. Each month the company digitally obtains over 2,000 companies who use the marketplace to move their business freight. uShip currently has more than 41,000 active service providers in its network.
