FOX News Channel Signs Former Democratic National Committee Chairwoman Donna Brazile to Contributor Role

March 18, 2019

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Mar 18, 2019--FOX News Channel (FNC) has signed former Democratic National Committee Chairwoman Donna Brazile as a contributor, the network announced today. Brazile, a veteran Democratic strategist, will offer political analysis across both FNC and FOX Business Network’s (FBN) daytime and primetime programming. She will make her first appearance on The Daily Briefing with Dana Perino at 2 PM/ET today.

In commenting on the announcement, Brazile said, “I’m delighted to be joining FOX News. I know I’m going to get criticized from my friends in the progressive movement for being on FOX News. My response is that, if we’ve learned anything from the 2016 election, it is that we can’t have a country where we don’t talk to those who disagree with our political views. There’s an audience on FOX News that doesn’t hear enough from Democrats. We have to engage that audience and show Americans of every stripe what we stand for rather than retreat into our ‘safe spaces’ where we simply agree with each other. For there is no safety in self-limiting numbers. You can be darn sure that I’m still going to be me on FOX News. I’m going to do what I always do: and dish it out straight, exactly as I see it, with just as much New Orleans hot sauce as folks expect.”

Prior to joining FNC, Brazile was the interim National Chair of the Democratic National Committee (DNC) during the 2016 presidential election where she led the efforts to support Democratic candidates. She also served as chair of the DNC’s Voting Rights Institute, as well as vice chair of Civic Engagement and Voter Participation at the DNC.

As the first African-American woman to manage a major presidential campaign, Brazile has participated in every presidential campaign from 1976 through 2000. An adjunct professor, she has also lectured at universities throughout the country on a variety of pressing topics, ranging from civility in American politics to race relations. In 2009, Brazile was chosen as one of O Magazine’s “Remarkable Visionaries” and was named one of the “100 Most Powerful Women” by The Washingtonian. She is a recipient of the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation’s highest award for political achievement.

Brazile is the author of the New York Times bestseller Hacks: The Inside Story of the Break-ins and Breakdowns That Put Donald Trump in the White House and the bestselling memoir Cooking With Grease: Stirring the Pots in American Politics. Most recently, she was one of the distinguished co-authors of For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Politics, which she wrote alongside Yolanda Caraway, Leah Daughtry, and Minyon Moore. She is also a syndicated columnist.

A native of Louisiana, she is the recipient of over ten honorary doctorate degrees, including honorary doctorates from her alma mater Louisiana State University, North Carolina A&T State University, and Xavier University of Louisiana. Additionally, Brazile is founder and managing director of Brazile & Associates LLC, a general consulting, grassroots advocacy, and training firm based in Washington, DC.
