Livestream: Defend the Defenders

WASHINGTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct 24, 2018--James Valentine (Maroon 5), Stefan Lessard (Dave Matthews Band) and Adam Gardner (Guster) join with Peruvian Indigenous leader Diana Rios for a special event co-hosted by the D.C. Environmental Film Festival at the Eaton Hotel in Washington, DC today at 7:30 pm. A special acoustic performance and discussion about the threat posed by illegal logging to the Amazon, its inhabitants, and the world at large will be livestreamed by REVERB.

Recently returning from their trip to Peru, the musicians will share what they learned from indigenous leaders on the front lines of defending the rainforest during the premiere of the Environmental Investigation Agency’s and REVERB’s documentary . Amongst other powerful voices, the film features Diana Rios, a leader of the Asheninka community of Saweto, who will share her story of incredible loss and resilience in the ongoing fight against illegal loggers in the Amazon.
